I don't think we have Home Bargains here. I sometimes get bits and pieces in Poundland but there's usually such a long queue I can't be bothered. We use Sainsburys own brand toilet roll and washing powder (I have to be careful with washing powder as some make me itch so I can't use really cheap ones) and most of our cleaning stuff is own brand unless the brands are on special offer.

We do have a Home Bargains and they have some good stuff in there but unless we go into town then it's not worth making a special trip. Tend to check it out if we go to the bank for anything.

IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

I've never heard of Home Bargains except on here...is it a northern chain? I shop wherever is most convenient but always have a budget in my head...so if I'm near Waitrose I'll be vegetarian for the week and if I'm near Asda it's party time!

I'm in the Midlands and we have them here. They can be quite good

Must admit that Waitrose is way out of my league, even if I had one nearby. Way too expensive.

I haven't found Waitrose too bad as they price match with Tesco on a lot of things. The only problem is ours is a small Waitrose and we have to pay to park!

Unfortunately my nearest one is on the outskirts of a large city in a very upmarket housing estate with no other supermarkets nearby so they're never going to price match!!

We have a very good Waitrose about 15 miles away and I use it about once a month. Some of their stuff is priced reasonably and the quality is usually very good x

Agree that wilkinsons sometimes have great offers, I have recently stocked up on those huge bottles of the 'posh' lenor (they're usually £3 something in the main supermarkets) as they were on offer for £1.52 for 3l so I've got about 5 bottles now, should last me the rest of the year!

I found Morrisons the cheapest for me, but I dont buy everything from there, I find it cheaper to shop in some small shops, ie. veg and fruit and the local butcher. I tend to buy when things are on offer although with Morrisons I tend to watch offers carfully, sometimes they work out more expensive. I do shop carefully and sometimes take a calculator with me.
28 down 32 to go, seems like a long way but one bit at a time

Years ago I always used a calculator going round - not that it did me any good!!

We do tend to stick to the same things every week so, sad as I am, I tend to know the prices of things I use all the time. I will do a BOGOFF for things I use, even if I don't need them at that time.

I'm a ASDA girl, think there the cheapest by far & they also do the price match & you get a voucher if the other supermarkets are cheaper.

I also go to Makro for our toilet rolls, bottles of water, washing powder, dishwasher powder & fabric conditioner as they quite often have offers on & it works out cheaper than the supermarkets

As we get through 4 pints of milk, a loaf of bread & one toilet roll each day (god knows what they do with it.... [:0]), i have to look at the offers.
IT"S OVER 11th NOVEMBER 2014

I use Asda as daughter works there so I get discount which really helps!!

Used to use Makro until they closed down the one closest to us so we reverted back to using Costco - ok, it does cost to be a member but it's great for some bargains and they do have different things in there as it's an American company.

My daughter and son in law go through loo roll as though it's going out of fashion so I know what you meant there.

Don't use that much milk or bread though!
