I've just tried to register with Shop and Scan but I need an invitation - do you know how I get one?

Hi

I have been doing that for a while now so I can't remember. I do seem to remember receiving something through the post so perhaps that was an invite. They do have a freephone number 0500 560 152 so you could try ringing that and asking them

Hi there,

after registering for a couple of these, its just dawned on me that these companies now hold significant personal data about each of us.

Bit worrying in this day and age...??

I am registered with one that you sample beauty products, so far I've been selected to sample hair mousse and a day cream, 7 days later you give your honest opinion of the product and the product is yours to keep. As they give you a very large size of product it can then last for months, downside you never know or find out who the manufacturer of the product is. Two massive cans of hair mousse last time I trialled and still using my favourite of the two. You don't have to accept any of the trials and regular emails are sent to keep your profile updated. Cannot for the life of me remember who it is or where to find them but certainly worth it. Doesn't cost a penny and as I say you get to keep the product, I didn't like the face cream as a facial moisturiser that I trialled so used it as a body moisturiser until it was gone rather than throwing it out! Next time I get an email I'll try and remember to post the link so if anyone wants to sign up they can do.

Hi Flowerpot,

I am on so many survey sites now that an awful lot of people must have my details! On the plus side, I have been a member of these sites for a few years now and have never had any problems with my data going anywhere it shouldn't.

Lesley, I would love to know what that site is that you use. If nothing else, it saves you money on buying beauty products

As soon as I receive my next e-mail or my memory returns I'll let you know, my friend put me onto it and I will go away and have a google to see if I can come up with anything.

found it straightaway the memory does work occasionally!

consumerresearchonline.co.uk

hope you find that helpful, bit long winded to get registered as they need to know skin types etc., but once registered just need to keep it updated.

Hi Kallis3 and Lesley

Lesley, thats reassuring to know. Do you get many rewards then being a member of a few of these? I know they all pay out differently, so what i mean is, is it worth being a member of as many as possible?

Lesley, the beauty site sounds great, i would love the link too.

By the way, if anyone is interested in online shopping (great for keeping to budget!) I have £10 off £50 spend discount code - XX3G47, valid till 30/4. Hope this helps someone!

Thanks everyone!

Hi Flowerpot,

I am a member of an awful lot of surveys - saddo that I am! I have earned quite a bit of cash as I have done it for a while. The best seem to be the vouchers though as it doesn't seem to take as long to accrue them. I managed to get £90 of Argos Vouchers from the one just before last Christmas and that bought my daughter her digital camera! Of course it is frustrating sometimes to be screened out before you have even started (happens a lot), and some of them are repetetive and quite long, but I persevere and think it is worth it.

Flowerpot the above is for the beauty products, wasn't sure if I could post it as an actual link due to TOS etc., but if you put that in the address bar with www. it will be fine. do it when you've a little while as it's a lengthy process. I've only been chosen twice so far but every little helps.

I found it like that, and I registered yesterday. I'm already registered with TNS, Valued Opinions and YouGov, and I've registered my interest with Shop and Scan - hopefully I'll get something soon!

I find some days I have nothing, others I am inundated, particularly when I go from a late to an early shift overnight and don't go on the computer until the following afternoon!
