We don't have cable either, but I would stick with Sky anyway. Been with them since 1989.
Won't be bothering with 3D though!

The only problem is shopping around can be difficult when you've got a bad credit rating.
I want to change from Vodafone to O2 so when Dave was phone hunting I asked in the O2 shop whether they would even consider me as I've got a bad credit rating. They told me that I may be able to change as I've already got a contract phone and that goes in my favour, and if I'm rejected I can try for a Simplicity Sim only deal.
When my contract is up next year I'll give it a go and see what happens...
HI Cath,
I am with Virgin and I have not had any problems at all. We used to have Sky+ TV but I got fed up losing the signal every time the weather was bad really annoying when you are taping something. With Virgin because it's underground cable I haven't lost the signal once. The only thing I miss is that Sky had more HD channels although Virgin are adding more all the time
We have had their phone and internet for the last 12 years, (started when it was still Telewest) and have had no problems at all in the 12 years I have only lost my internet connection once.
We are on a 3 for £30 package although we pay a little more as we have Virgin plus but our bill is npw approx £50 (that includes the phone bill) where as when we had Sky as well we worked out we were paying over £90 pm.
If life is what you make it, I must have been in a strange mood when I made mine
I shall have to stick with satellite as we don't have cable by us and I do like the service provided by Sky.

I was a sky customer for eighteen years and changed to Virgin Media ten months ago.
The main reason for changing was due to having terrible problems with our broadband connection, so the only alternative was to go for Virgin’s fibre optic option.
It also worked out quite a bit cheaper to have TV, phone and internet with Virgin as opposed to three separate providers.
I have been really impressed with the package we have and overall find it a lot better than Sky.
I received a letter off Sky a couple of days ago stating that if I was to go back to them that I could have any package at 50% discount for twelve months.
I must admit that I was very tempted by the offer as it would save us some money, which is always welcome.
I rang Virgin out of interest and asked when I would be out of contract with them.
I was told that my contract expired in August and the gentleman asked why I was enquiring. I mentioned the offer from Sky of 50% discount on any package for twelve months.
The gentleman asked me to hold the line while he could see what he could do for me, two minutes later he has reduced my monthly payments by just under twenty pounds for the same package.
If anyone is coming to the end of there contract with Virgin and have previously been with Sky, it may be worth giving them a call and mentioning that you have been sent the 50% offer from Sky and are considering changing as it would save money.
This has worked out really well for us and to top it off the gentleman mentioned that Sky sports HD will be available shortly for Virgin customers.
[:)]Hi, i havent posted for a while but i have been with Sky since 1996 and have found there service OK but they never seem to offer there existing customers any discounted deals but i will suffer with them till the end of my IVA when i will most probably change.
I was with BT and BT Broadband with the Home Hub, everything was fine until they decided to try and Rip Me Off for a Faulty BT Box and the Broadband Speed was supposed to Be 8Mbps but actually only got 1Mbps and they were trying to charge me an extortionate amount for parts which was highlighted on the Programme WATCHDOG that other customers were having the same problem.
I have switched my Phone line and Broadband to Virgin and they are 100% better than BT as you get the full speed and the phone bills are loads cheaper.
I have had problems with BT recently, but they have never tried to rip me off. I usually get a new, free, Homehub sent out.
If I do change, it will probably be to Sky. I've been with them since their launch way back in 1989 and can't fault them.

I wouldn't touch BT now, they were rubbish when we were with them for broadband. We've got everything with Sky now and it's so much cheaper as we pay £5 for the broadband and £5 so we get free calls at all times.
iam with virgin media had a problem with there new security media moaned a bit ok now they said to me sorry to think you were leaving us i wasn't cut my monthly payment by 10 pounds a month thanks very much worth calling i guess

I'm with Skippy on this one, Sky are brilliant for the internet and telepone. Previously I was with virgin and it kept dipping in and out a lot, don't get that now. x
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.
