I've now decided to stay with Virgin. Was bored at work and went through how much they both cost and compared them. Virgin don't charge you for the HD package where SKY do, so Virgin works out £10 a month cheaper already!

Must admit that I would never change from Sky for my TV. Been with them for 21 years now and no problems.

Do you get the same amount of HD channels with Virgin?

As far as I know Sky have more HD channels, although Virgin are getting more.

Unlike Virgin, Sky's customer service has always been good, so it's worth the extra tenner for that!

Hi Skippy,

Got to disagree with you on your last point - Sky good Customer Service??

I think you have been extremely lucky - It is always a nightmare getting through and when you do you either get cut off half the time or you are then transferred from one person to another without them telling each other what you have said. Trust me I used to be a Sky Engineer and even we had a terrible time trying to get through to someone in Customer Services and we worked for them lol!!!!

Have to agree with Skippy Ray - I've never had a problem with Sky customer service.

I'll stick with them!

So what extra HD channels do SKY get then? I couldn't see any different ones except for Virgin having ESPN HD (for no extra cost where SKY would charge you £7.50 for the ESPN package).

Until Virgin actually bother going digital in my area they can't compete with Sky. They haven't even improved the service since I left!

We've had good service from Sky from day 1 for TV, phone and broadband.

I've been with Sky since they started, mobile is with O2 and I rate both of those.

Will be considering changing ISP and phone though in a couple of months unless BT make me an offer I can't refuse!

If you're going to switch I'd changee to Sky Jan - their internet is brilliant and extremely cheap if you've already got Sky.
