I did the same thing with Vodafone and chose a phone I wasn't happy with. I know this is naughty but I sold the upgrade and went back to using my old phone - then I remembered why I upgraded! My old phone used to switch itself off regularly for no reason, so I ended up having to buy a new one from Ebay!

I love the new one, hence not being worried about going SIM only for a while.

I think thats what I'm going to do. My old phone was the iphone 3G, nothing wrong withit what so ever, loved it. Was going to upgrade to the Iphone 3GS but decided against as I already had one (3G). So opted for the Nokia N900, BIG MISTAKE!! This model phone is going for £250-£300 on ebay so might sell it and go back to my iphone!

I tend to do some research into phones before upgrading. I've got the Samsung Pixon at the moment, love the phone but will be wanting something different next year.

I was limited to what Vodafone would give me as I'm hardly last of the big spenders. I ended up with a Sony Ericsson C905 which had a brilliant camera but the phone wasn't great. I've now got a Vivaz which I'm really pleased with.

We've had so many hubs because of problems. We are on the top package for phone and broadband though so that might make a difference.

Ours is up in August so we will see what they offer us.

I do like the latest mobile though.

We just changed our home insurance to a cheaper provider, but when the documents came through, the cover was rubbish. We can claim a maximum of £250 if for example we spill wine on our rug. When you consider the rug costs £400 to replace, that's not good. We've gone back to our original company. Totally new for old with no excess. I don't mind paying the extra.

Our home insurance isn't great - we've got a really high excess, but this was the only company that would cover us as we live in a flood risk area. Our house was flooded over 60 years ago and they still hold it against us!

They say I live in a flood area (well some companies) and I've never known a flood in this area! x

Same here! Although the river often bursts it's banks, it's never (touch wood!) on this side and we don't exactly live on the river bank!

My husband would like to live near the river but we don't and could never afford to either. They generalise in respect of areas by the sound of it, postcode lottery again. x

I'd love to live looking out over the river but there's no way we could afford that.

We live in a downstairs maisonette, and the girl who lives above us has problems getting insurance as well. If she's flooded we're in big trouble!

Hi everyone I have a question about HD tv with Sky. When I went for my creditors meeting I had to reduce my Sky subscription to the basic, so how do some of you good people manage to get HD.

Some people have the allowance for basic Sky and pay for the extras by cutting down on other expenditure.

I'm lucky as my OH pays for it!

I had thought that I would pay for the HD with other money but was worried if bank statements were checked and I was paying for HD the creditors would ask for more money or that I would be in breach of contract or something. Still trying to feel my way with this IVA stuff even after 12 months.

Daughter pays some towards Sky and the rest is funded by savings from allowances.

Our contents insurance has no excess, we have made a few claims over the years. Made a couple on the buildings one as well.

No problem with flooding by us - if there is then the rest of the country will probably be under water as we are quite high up!
