Ever since then my eldest son has been OK ish. My daughter is really good, keeps her room tidy and is quite willing to help out. Must the the whip I keep behind the sofa, no only joking.

Lesley, I hope your daughter will be OK, the throat thing doesnt sound too good at all. I hope youre Ok too.

I don't think mine will ever change - don't know where she gets it from either.

I spoke to her head of year in school yesterday and she is to stop fretting over the exams and get well, she is still no better, no energy, her throat does have a slight gap at the back, tomorrow she's going back to the Dr's. Can anyone suggest a mouthwash as although she is cleaning her teeth and tongue sadly the smell is not nice. I have apporached the subject and told her it's not her fault, but do you think it'll be ok to use on tonsilitis that doesn't appear to be responding to penicillin 250mg x 2, four times a day!

Or would you think it best to wait until tomorrow and get a prescription?

Morning.Get advice about a mouthwash-some say gargle, some schools say don' as it might just spead the infection. She will smell as her throat will be very *****.She will also have little energy.Just keep up with regular fluids.Anti biotics sound an effective dose..could take 3-4 days to kick in.Will she eat ice cream, frozen lollies. This will help the inflamation? Hope she's feeling better soon.Poor girl.

She's eating ice poles Cat, she has lost a fair bit of weight and can't afford to, (she can borrow some of me if she wants!). She's in for the Dr's tomorrow so I'll see what he says about mouthwash you never know might get it on script rather than paying!

My mate dragged me to the doctors today. I asked for a lift to the chemist to get some more cough medicine and when she saw me that was it. We went into the docs and was told no-one could see us. That wasn't good enough for Jayne. By this time I was sat down hardly able to breath. I think the receptionist realised that I wasn't trying it on. Luckily it was my my doctor who was on call and she came back took one look at me and took me to her room. Gave me 6 steroid tablets and put me on a nebuliser. Turned out my cough was a very bad asthma attack. I have got to take 6 steroid tablets a day for 7 days. Look out Arnie. I think Skippy is right my body is reacting to the relief of bankruptcy.

Funny thing is just knowing what it is helps. I reckon about 2 - 3 days on steroids and I will be as annoying as ever. Also on a positive note I'm drinking that much water my kidneys will be in the best possible health and my skin should start glowing. Hee hee
