I would imagine that you would as the TC's have to be declared as income on your I&E, so any lump sum payment probably would be classed as a windfall.

I suppose you would have to let your IP know and let them make the decision.

I'm only guessing, so could be completely wrong!

Hopefully one of the experts might know.

When I changed my bank account I contacted them with the new details and they credited me twice in one week. I phoned them and they said that's normal! I took the guys name and time I phoned incase they ever say it was wrong and try and get it back. Crazy!

When you ring to declare a change in circumstances, the computer automatically generates another payment and a new award notice is sent out. The extra payment is then taken from you weekly untill the end of the tax year.

Thats what the tax credits people told me.

Really? It is about a pound less so maybe that's how they are taking it. It'll be stopping when I leave the restaurant anyway so I'm sure I'll be talking to them again. Thanks Lisa. X

It's funny really. When i rang about them paying 800 pound into hubbys bank, the guy on the phone didnt know why it had been paid in but said it must be right. So, i made him go back in our records untill he found out why. Anyway, it turned out that hubby had been paid less than he was entitled to on the WTC for the year b4.

Anyway he finished the phonecall by saying "enjoy that money, its your's"

Yeah, I kept saying "are you absolutely sure?", it was only £79 but that's a lot to me, he reassured me about a hundred times but I still took his name! Just incase! I'm terrible, I don't trust anyone. X

When i do my annual review of iva.Instead of telling them how much im getting each month, i look at total we are entitled to in a year and just divide it by 12.I found this better because they can go up and down each month , if you ring and change address, suddenly you get a lump appear in your bank and youur tax credits go down.At least this way you know you are giving them the correct figure for year .And any big limp that appears has already been declared as annual income.
