I cannot imagine that any IP will be seeking increased payments from their clients in order to address this matter - as presumably some people will have been struggling with their payments in the meantime.
As far as I recall, anyone earning less than £19,000 per annum was worse off with the abolition of the 10p tax band (and simultaneous reduction of the standard rate to 20p). People earning more were better off i.e. it punished the lowest wage earners. This remedy is a fixed increase in the tax-free allowance. Thus everybody benefits the same but, obviously the lower income earners benefit more percentage-wise. As many people in IVAs will have been worse off since the tax change was introduced in April, this is just catching up on what has been already lost!!
I have this morning emailed my IP regarding this refund (60.00 each during September and 10.00 per month for the next 6 months each) and I received a very professional email and telephone call back advising I could keep the money.
VERY IMPRESSED WITH DFD up to now. My IVA was transferred to DFD from Clearstart earlier this year.
