Taz more settled now, not sure if its down to breakfast or the painkiller he got with it!!!

Wounds look neat and tidy, not hot or red at all so thats good. Shaved bits will take a wee while to come back and too be honest if that's the worst we have to worry about thats not bad.

Probably be licking them for a while too, my chocolate boy, was in the vets all day on new years eve on a drip and they shaved the front of his leg. Spent the next week licking it bless him but he's stopped now. x

Even Taz's tongue isnt long enough to reach his shoulder but the little wound on his side he can get to. They gave us a buster/lampshade collar for him but he looks so sad when its on that its just not worth it(we have 3 in the cupboard under the stairs!!)

Vets again tomorrow for a wound check and they will see how his pain meds are doing, they seem to be working just now but not sure how long they will last as he only gets 1 tablet a day.

Not long back from vets. Nurse check on wounds. Very happy and vet came in for a look with s student who was there when lump was removed from shoulder. Both amazed how well Taz is doing although gave us extra painkillers for him as the one a day pill wears off early evening leaving our choccy boy a little whingey! He seems to have settled down nicely, wasnt happy that he didnt get to run about in the thick snow up here!!!

Oh,bless!!Hope Taz feels better soon!
We have had many trips to the vet with one of our dogs,we call her the six million dollar dog.If anything happens it's ALWAYS our Gem.At our last house we had to fill in the small pond in the garden, she ran through it and cut all her legs on the brick edge, she got bitten by a cat and passed out,ran into a gate whilst out walkies....you just wouldn't believe it!!
Love them to bits though, wouldn't change them for the whole world.

Much better yesterday and today. Wounds healing nicely. Just making sure when he is out he doesnt go mad playing with the 3 boxers across the street and rip stitches. Back at vets end of the week for further check up. Didnt need his extra painkillers last night either so thats good.

If only his fur would grow quicker!!! The patch on one side is about 8" by 8"!! Lucky its still cold enough for him to wear his coat out!

Quick update,1st day off the pain killers for Taz. He is back to eating well but still only on short walks until fridays vet checkup when hopefully he will get the ok to build up the distance in the walkies. He keeps staring at me when we are out in the woods and turn back well short of where we would normally go!!!

Wounds look tidy still and he is enjoying getting washed down with a facecloth/flannel when he comes in from walkies so no dirt is getting into wounds.

Thanks again for the kind thoughts and words, they mean a lot to us.

Infection in shoulder wound. Vets given Taz antibiotics after draining a bulge (sorry if too graphic). Its not bothering him at all now.
