I enjoyed it as I love sport, but I have to say I disagree that people should be more patriotic about the Olympics if they don't like sport. Why on earth would you watch 2 weeks of sport if you don't enjoy it?!?! There's no way I would be watch something I wasn't interested in, just because people say I should!

I wasn't bothered with the opening and closing ceremonies (closing especially) as I think they are a waste of money in general. It's about the sport, not how much a country can spend on ceremonies.

I agree Skippy - I'm not a sports lover and would have hated to have had to sit there and watch it. I don't consider that I have narrowminded views, it's just not what I choose to watch.

It's like saying that I have to watch the World Cup when England are playing when I loathe football.

It's each to his own and at least it makes life a little less boring when we disagree!!

Re the Olympics - I do like some sports, not a lot but a few.

For the past two weeks that is all that has been on TV and my normal programmes have been moved to a different channel and the schedules disrupted.

There were more channels dedicated to it on Sky than you could shake a stick at and when I turned onto BBC News channel that was all that was on so I ended up watching Sky news as at least they some news.

World War 3 could have occurred but that would have come down the list as far as as the BBC news was concerned.

I'm sorry if this post will upset anyone but I am not happy when someone tries to tell me that I should have been patriotic and watched it.

While I enjoyed the Olympics I was disgusted by the fact that any serious news came after sports news. Yes Team GB (and BTW I hate that term, it sounds so American!) did fantastically well, but I think war in Syria, a little girl being murdered and serious flooding in the Philippines are more important.

The other thing that annoys me is that the Paralympics in a couple of week's time will hardly get any coverage.
