I use T-mobile U fix, I have done for a couple of years. My contract is £15 per month. Last year they offered me a new phone or a discount, down to £10 per month for the next year. I took the discount.......and have been very happy paying £10 per month. However my latest bill came yesterday for £15.

I contacted them to tell them I was thinking about leaving them, and again I was offered a new phone or discount. However this time, I said I was unsure, so to keep me they offered me even more discount! I'm now paying just £8 a month for my mobile contract.

I know it would have been difficult for me to change mobile companies because of the IVA, but they don't know that.

So, my tip is, if you're on a contract already and have been for a while, contact them....... see what they offer you! You might save a few pounds.

It's certainly worth trying. I got my U-Fix £15 down to £5 per month this time. £10 a month discount may not seem a lot of money in the grand scheme of things, but when you live a pretty limited budget it can be a bit of a boost and you're right mobile phone companies aren't aware that you are in IVA.

It's right what they say - Shy bairns get nowt!

Vodafone are aware that I am BR (they're not a creditor) and they have been very good. They were happy for me to keep my contract and they reduced my monthly bill from £35 to £25 per month.

Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, today is the present - a gift to make the most of.
