Okay, deep breath here - been reading out some posts to hubby and talking about life in general. Thats what happens when you get quality time together[:D]

as you may have gathered, he buries his head and I deal with everything ( call me bossy boots [:D]). well, we both feel the challenges we face are so cosmetic compared to my forum friends! When I think about what I have posted compared with some of what you deal with, well I feel a fraud!

This may sound soppy, but if I couldn't post about my personal struggles, I don't know how I would have got through 2008.

I, we, just wanted to say thanks for being there!

xx

Julie, you are NOT a fraud.
Every one of us have been through our own individual problems and each persons problems are just as important as the next persons.

We all deal with things in our own way and we ALL should be proud to be what we are.

Your problems are very important to your friends on this forum and we will ALWAYS be here to support you as we will for everybody else xxxxxx

I know what you mean Julie, (not the fraud bit you nut!) I love that we are all here for each other no matter what the other is going through. I hope I can eventually give back the support that I got. X

Julie dont you b***** dare, you have feelings too hun... whatever youre going through, we care.

Lets put it this way.

three girls in a room,
a) has just lost her best friend in an accident and is crying.
b) has just crashed her prized car and is gutted but doesnt want to cry because of A.
c) has a drawing pin stuck in her ass and wants to scream as it flippin hurts but is thinking of A and B.

They are all in pain but some will heal faster than the others, how can you measure the amount of pain they are in....... you cant. Does A and B;s pain make C's pain less.... NO.

It is the open and honesty that puts this forum above the many out there that just do the debt thing. Me thinks anyway. The networking really works here, I know we have emails for intimate chats and stuff but its not quite the same is it? Drawing on the many instead of the few or the one is so precious here. Anyway I dont think I would stay around if it was just about the debt facts, important as they are in the begining. I dont know enough about that. In my humble opinion what the forum gives back to its members is self worth, direction and reintergration back into a life, they kind of lost in the black hole of debt. I hope it never changes.

I heartily agree with everything said (apart from the fraud bit!).

This forum is a godsend, not only for debt problems, but just to have a rant, post interesting snippets, money saving tips etc. I am sure that people are getting fed up of hearing of my hospital woes, but it makes me feel better so I shall be selfish and carry on![:p]

We are all here for each other, and I know that I have made a lot of new good friends, both on and off the forum.

I hope it continues for a long time as well.

I know exactly what you mean ... I thought my life was in a bad way when I started the IVA journey but it's nowt compared to most of the people on here ... which is why I rarely enter the advice zone as there is a wealth of help on here for anyone wanting it ... I just keep the sniggers going.

I think the best thing about this forum is the combination of the advice and support. You can have all the advice in the world, but you need the support as well.

I feel a fraud sometimes when I post as I'm not in an IVA, but I couldn't do without the support!

Yes, but you've been there Skip, and your advice is invaluable for anyone in the same situation, and for anyone thinking of BR.

Julie you are most definitely not a fraud!! I don't know what i would do if i wasn't able to come on here to get things off my chest or just have a rant!! I have posted things in the past-like when i'd told my parents about the iva or when OH was made redundant, but then would worry after thinking have i done the right thing?as there are people with far worse problems than me..but at the time i just needed to tell someone, and i'm glad i did because the support i recieved from everyone here was invaluable.xx
please visit my blog http://tori.blogs.iva.co.uk/ a second chance..

Can I just say this.. It really isnt the point that some have more to deal with than others. We are all different, thank goodness, eh? We can all bring something here. With that said, there will be a few Jan's Freelili's, Skips, Viki's and Julies, etc out there who will find themselves in debt. Dealing with very similar problems on top and when they read they can identify and thats what matters. May be its partly our other problems that brought us here in the first place? I know mine did. Look at some of the newbies that have come along in the last few months and how they have become less scared, more identifying with the rest of us and as much part of the forum as we are?

Skip you have helped many, Jan its a pleasure to be part of such a huge event in your life and sharing helps, right? All of our problems are noone else's fault and if one has A, B and C to deal with it dosent mean someones else dealing with D isnt going to be affected by it. Some problems put other problems into prespective but thats all, they dont take them away.
