Nearly 12 months ago i remember thinking how i couldn't face another christmas like this. Out of desperation i typed in debt on google and came across this site. (best google of my life!) From the first phone call to the IP company it was instant relief.
We tried to go for an IVA in january but because of hubby's sickness it was decided that we should go onto a DMP.
We have been on this for 8 months and are just about to send off our signed proposal for an IVA. hopefully it will be accepted in a few weeks.
I would like to say thanks to this forum, i feel our life is getting back on track. We do not miss credit,it has been different but certainly not hard. I have not once had to go without money for the electric meter,or hid from the milkman in the last 8 months. [:)]
The debt was like a hugh leach, sucking every bit of life out of me. It's the best feelig in the world actually having money in the bank that is ours. Ok it may only be £5.00 some days but it is ours.
Best of all i'm hopefully passing this advice over to my older daughters, who are just starting out at work and uni. I keep telling them it is not a credit card; it is a debt card.
I think they should be renamed debt cards and you should have to apply for them like you would a mortage.

Thanks for reading my ramblings, and to anyone thinking of iva or DMP, pick up the phone. Don't worry about what they may think, they don't judge you.

Thanks again [:D]

That is a great post to read new hope, and will give others the inspiration to take those first steps to debt freedom. Hope you hubby has now recovered from his illness, and great that you can now put the IVA proposals forward. Good luck with your creditors meeting.
