Hi and welcome to the forum firstly. I'm coming to the end of my IVA journey and while it's not all been plain sailing it has been worth it.

Lots of posters go through the IVA without a hitch but if you do get a problem talk to your IP is my best advice. They're there to help you and work with you and the creditors.

Why not take a look at some blogs, they are a great way to read about a person in an IVA. A lot of us have a link in our signature or you can find a tab along the top bar to click onto.

Andy Davie is a lovely man and I'm confident he'll deal with your application in a very efficient and professional manner.

The forum can be a godsend to a lot of people so do continue to post and do ask as many questions as you can. We have posters with experience of IVA/Bankruptcy and DMP's as well as professionals posting so it would never be long before you get a reply whether it be a specific question or just a little support needed.

Do keep posting.
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

Hi and welcome, Lesley has given some great advice above, for me, 2 years into our IVA now the weight of unimginable levels of debt hanging over us has been replaced by worry if we will get through the month without something breaking that we need to fix and don't have the money for (think: car, boiler, washing machine etc) and have no access to credit for either. Whilst you do have an emergency fund/car maintenance allowance in an IVA the reality is, these amounts usually get spent elsewhere (esp at xmas!) and don't always cover the costs of repairs alone.

Having said that, so far we are doing ok, but still have the endless worry of what is going to go wrong? it's a scary world living without credit, but necessary all the same.

HI purple Princess, my IVA has just been accepted so i've a long way to go. It's a bit daunting filling all the forms and collecting all the information you need, and you may find as in my case your proposals may change along the way as i originally thought i'd be paying £280 a month then it went to £360 and then finally they accepted £518 which was a shock but it's the only way forward. At least its better to have a debt cleared within 6 years than not at all. I should pay back at least 66p in the pound without any interest added on. I'm happy now having paid 2 payments and know I can manage although as said above it's times like xmas and when things break down and car expenses when money becomes impossible to find, but you just have to get on with it and maybe speak to your IP if you have something large to pay for and you may get a payment break and this will be added onto the end of your term. Good luck it's gonna be hard but worth it x
Stop the world i wanna get off !!!!!!!
