Although you are allowed to extend your credit before proposing an IVA, if the catalogue company feel that you had no intention of paying for the goods then I wouldn't expect them to be very agreeable. Talk to your IP and see what advice they give- it should still be possible to cancel the delivery and get a refund.
the order was on the latest statement i sent to my ip so the balance hasnt changed and should be included in my proposal my ip said that the balances on my proposal wont be spot on when he sends it to me as they get all balances to my creditors when i send the signed proposal back giving them permission to contact all creditors etc, i really do need this bedroom furniture as at the minute i have a bed but nothing else?!! i think i will take delivery as i have not signed anything yet and there is no guarantee that my iva will be accepted so if i do cancel it i will be back to square one.....fingers crossed xx
another update rang my ip yesterday and was told that my proposal wont be sent now until next week and they are going to ring me tomorrow afternoon for an update, so i have decided that as my furnitire is going to arrive on tuesday and i still have not received my proposal or signed for anything that im gonna accept it,,,,it may be the last thing i can get for a while, still staying positive but does seem to be dragging on oh well another day another dollar and all that [:)]
oh well here goes feel like im talking to myself seeing as the last 3 posts were by me lol but its good to get things out in the open, anyway my ip did call back today to say that my proposal wont be here til probably end of next week....funny that cuz thats when their 2nd payment comes out on thursday!! but apparently they are a bit back logged still think they may e just after their fees (my first 2 payments) made first one when sent in all statements id etc etc, does anyone else have a problem with blair endersby cuz i just feel they stringing me along?? thanks again for any replies ...xx[:(]
Hi kyla ... fear not, your posts are being read :0)
I have no experience with B.E, but they do pop up here every now and then, maybe they will pick up on this and follow it up for you.
I imagine all of the debt management companies will be having their work cut out to keep up ovet the next couple of years -- I can see personal insolvency going through the roof!!
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.
IVA Completed 23rd July 2013 .... C.C. 10th January 2014
If you are doing your IVA through BE and another payment is due then it is likely that the initial groundwork is being done by Baines and Ernst. I don't know if this money comes off your IVA payments.

they did say on my initial phone call from them that the first 2 payments go to them and the rest spread amongst my creditors when and if the iva is accepted. i have paid £252 and the next £252 is on the 7th april then if my iva is accepted it will be £252 a month if that makes sense xx
It does. Just wanted to make sure that you understood what you had signed up for - you'd be amazed how many posters don't!

Trying to, but BE did the same with us and almost as the next payment was due they rang saying we had not paid the first and I pointed out that 900 quid does not come easy when you are going into an IVA or I would not be doing it, so at that point they sent the paperwork, Have not asked for a variation or anything just hopeing it will all finish soon. Been fine until about 2 years ago when jobs started going haywire. I have been very lucky getting work even if I am now on less money that 10 years ago, hubby has casual work, can cope prob till August but certainly not for another year if it gets extended. Still we did the crime so must serve the time and are doing our best at the min with cheap old fashioned grub to get there without reducing payments, 900 per month is a lot these days from 1 and a half wages. good luck to Kyla123 anyway we have been fine really and I love paying in cash it really makes you think, don't think you realise with the card its so easy and deadly. xx 4 months or maybe 16 months to go La La La

Im so sorry Ive not been on the forum this weekend & I have not picked up on your posts.
I have heard BE to have a back log of work which will be understandable with whats going on in the UK at the moment, there so many losing their jobs & struggling with debts.
I am positive you will be fine with BE & I know it may feel like a life time for your proposal to arrive, but Im sure they are doing there best.
Final IVA payment made in April 2013, never ever thought we could do it or get through it but we did! X

Firstly well done on getting this far in your IVA, and Im so sorry to hear that you have had to suffer so many redundancies.
Im pleased to hear BE have supported you through your journey, Im currently with them & things are going well, but (touchwood) we have not had any major things go wrong. I hope you can get to the end successfully, it is not in your interest or BE for your IVA to fail so far into a IVA. Let us know how you get on.

HI MrsKnight, thanks for the vote of confidence, have just spoken to them as I read about the clients being taken over by GT. We have until Sept to pay apparently so the first payment must have gone to Baines & Earnst. However she also confirmed we will probably have to pay another 12 months, but they will do a I & E review before it goes to creditors meeting for approval. She said GT would follow the same criterea as them so nothing should alter, this really is the first contact I have had to have with them, my review is being put together now so she advised, will just have to see what effect it has in the grand scheme of things. I hope Kyla's gets sorted before the swap over.
So now we are either 5 payments of 17 away.

When I signed up for an IVA I was passed from Baines & Ernest to BE & we paid 2 months payments for setting up the IVA, then our IVA began.
We were supposed to pay our first payment at the creditors meeting which we could not afford as it was 9 days after paying our 2nd payment, so we had the first payment spread out over the first 3 months payment, which made it a difficult start to the IVA.
Im sure we will be in good hands with GT & Im pleased they have got your situation in hand, Im sure it will go well with the best interests for you & your IVA.
My review is due in the next month so Im wondering if the switch is going to delay it. Only just got our payslips back which we sent in over 6 weeks ago. But Im not overly worried as I know everything is pretty much the same as last year.
Let us know how you get on & good luck for the creditors meeting x
