The cost of having to move will a big big problem

I am currently on month 11 of my IVA. I rent my flat from a letting agent and just before I moved in (3 years ago) I was credit scored which I obviously got through.

I received a letter yesterday saying that they have changed referencing companies and I will have to be re-scored. My current lease is due to expire in June and I am worried that on the result of the scoring they will not offer me a new one, even though I have always paid on time and in full for all the time I have been there. The cost of having to move will a big big problem. Could they force me to move??

I would have thought that three years of regularly paying your rent would stand you in good stead to remain in the property. What a complete waste of someone's time rechecking existing tenants credit ratings!

I agree with Melanie in that its a complete waste of time when you are such a good tenant.
I would think that at the worst they will ask you to increase your deposit.

Hi,
As a former landlord, If you worried about your tenacy write a letter to the landord (even if you have go via the agent). You have good payment record which as a former landlord was my primary concern.

Also from memory, If they want you to quit the property they have to serve the "Notice to quit" at least two months before your (I'm assuming 6 month tenancy) is due to expire.

Your current landlord would have to be insane not renew over a credit rating.

Hi,

This issue is quite interesting, I'm a tenant and have lived in the property for nearly 4 years and never had any issues with the landlady, as I make sure that the rent is always paid on time.

Its always been a worry to me that if my landlady wanted to release capital by selling the house - I might have a problem finding somewhere to live because with a different landlord - I would need references and probably would have to go through a credit-scoring process.
