I went to the dentist yesterday and luckily there's nothing wrong at the moment! Apparently there is a shadow on the remaining tooth under my crown so she's keeping an eye on that but if it has to come out I won't be sorry to see the back of it! I've had root canal treatment but part of the root is still there, and my options are to put up with it as long as I can, to have the root canal treatment redone (minimum £500 just for the new crown), to have it out and have an implant (£2500-£3000) or just to have it out (£47).

Needless to say I'm putting up with it for now and if there's any problems it's just coming out!

Finaly on Monday i had the bottle and the money to have my top back tooth out that has been bothering me since before my iva, can't believe i put up with it for 5 years, was very painful had to have topup of anaesthetic as the infection stopped it numbing, finally he put a needle through the centre of the tooth made me jump a bit, it worked allmost straightaway though, he took it out in what seemed ages with lots of cracking and crunching sounds but probably was only a minute or two, my cheek is a bit sore still but is better than yesterday, should be ok for my op on Monday.

Regards David.

Thankyou Lesley, even since last post at lunchtime my cheek is less sore, read the info sheet they give, so have been regularly washing with salty water, seems to be doing the job. I can sympathise with you over the having nightmares though, iv'e had a lot of problems over the years with my teeth, i had root canal treatment when i lived in Phoenix Az, the pain was terrible & the bill gave me nightmares, so glad i moved back here with to a fantastic NHS, especially with my recent health problems.

Regards David.

I can sympathise with you about the anaesthetic David, I had the same thing happen to me. The dentist was trying to fill a tooth and it wouldn't go numb but rather than wait she just kept going!
