Hi Viki

Reading your posts, and the others ... two thoughts come to mind;

(i) Sacrifice = giving something up for something better.

(ii) If you love someone ... but in this case SOMETHING ... let it go

You make such valuable contributions to the Forum and are a lovely person ... you will take this experience forwards into a bright future with you.

Lots of love.

Debbie

Thank you again folks. You've all been so lovely, reading your posts has kept me going.

Well, that's it then. All our favourite regulars came in for final drinks tonight. We got lots more chocolates and flowers. My very special customer, an elderley lady who comes in every Sunday for breakfast presented me with a Swaroski crystal cat. It's gorgeous. Another customer had painted a picture of the outside of the restaurant, he had it framed too. Unbelievable.

These very special people have touched my life so much, I feel as though I am abandoning them. If there was any way to turn business around to stay open, make a profit and repay my debts, I'd do it. Unfortunately, I have tried everything. It's out of my hands.

The new owner informed me on Saturday that she didn't want any of the stock (she was supposed to take it but never mind) so we gave it all away to the regulars as they left! That made us happy.

As soon as everyone had gone, we both broke down.

Hopefully I can now finally sort my IVA out, I'm scared about that but if I can get through tonight, I'm sure I can get through anything.

Love to everyone. Viki X

Don't let it get you down Viki. This is a new start for you and now you have the advantage of knowing what to do not to fall into the money pit again. You can look on us as being your 'customers' and feed us your wisdom and witticisms, I for one enjoy your upbeat posts, and I'm sure many others do too. Things can only get better now xx

Viki, what a very sad night for you, but it does sound as though you and your regulars had a good time.

You would have thought the new owner would have taken the stock wouldn't you.

How lovely of your regulars (although I guess they qualify as friends) to buy you all those gifts.

You can now get yourself sorted out and look forward to a debt free future.

I wish you all the best, sending you lots of hugs.[:)]

Thanks you two.[:)]

I believe the new owner is closing it for building work and changing menu etc, making it more of a bar so I guess that's why she didn't want my stock. I did sell most of it, just left with half empty spirit bottles and lots of lemons! Customers looked happy anyway, especially the guy with the three quarter bottle of glenmorangie! Not so much the lady with the bag of lemons!

Just waiting for the solicitors to call so I can go down with the keys.....then off to the park to blow the cobwebs off.

Viki X

hey Viki

sorry i havent been on for a few days, been really busy, i cant imagine what you are both going through right now, hopefully in time you will be able to look back at this time with fond memories of your customers and your time there and not just painful thoughts, you and hubby seem lovely and i really hope that someone is shining down on you to get you through this tough time, you really deserve some happiness and i pray you get some soon, stay strong the next step is to be debt free and you will be there before you know it.
