Thanks Melanie, do you think it would be a good idea to apply for an iva now? I am really struggling to meet loan and credit card payments and I feel I should let them all know what the situation is. Kind regards, v.w

Hi vw

It is impossible for me to give you that sort of advice on a forum like this when I only have a brief snapshot of your business and trading circumstnaces. If your are struggling to make creditor repayments now, this is only likely to get worse, and thefore I would strongly urge you to seek direct contact with an insolvency practitioner experienced in business sales and insolvency.

Most IPs probably will be able to help, but some of the larger companies do not deal with self-employed cases, so make sure you check this before proceeding. And remember that initial advice costs nothing but can be priceless for peace of mind.
Regards, Melanie Giles, Insolvency Practitioner

Hey Melanie,

I spoke to the other Melanie at your office today, she is calling me back tomorrow to discuss everything. When I filled in all the details on your web page it asked for the amount of loan as monthly payment multiplied by months left, i naively thought it would be the settlement balance on the loan so the figures now mean that TSB have 77% of debt not 73% as i worked out before and my debt is obviously much higher. Do you now think that I will have to deal directly with TSB, sorry, I know that I should wait for tomorrow but I am so anxious, I probabaly won't sleep. I'm so glad I made the first step to sort everything out though. v.w

I am liaising with Melanie with regard to your case, and we will discuss this with you tomorrow. Sorry for the delay in my reply - it's been a pretty horrid day today to be honest in my office, we do have them occasionally!
