andydavie.
thanks for your replies.
i have a couple of questions.
how can i dictate the date of the first payment
when i have already sent it with my draft proposal.
with reference to your earlier answer regarding green flag, is it allowed for me to take the monthly payment option when in iva, as they add on a premium
for insallments.
wouldn't this be shown as obtaining credit?

Hi olympic torch
I took the monthly option on mine but if you pay the first month when you take it out as you have to with car insurance then you are in effect paying in advance so therefore not really credit.

Hi Olmpic torch
Aguise is correct on the installments being paid monthly, you are always paying ahead of the product used so in essence never owe money so its not credit.
With the payment date for your IVA,if its a standing order you control this and just amend the payment date but let your IP know.
Cheques just send them off once paid and again let your IP know that its due to the fact that your pay date is different.

sorry, more questions.
the time arranged for our creditor meeting is 3.30pm.
is there a 'deadline' by which they have to vote, is it close of business on that day, or is 3.30 the deadline.
just wondering when i should be ringing my ip to find out my fate.

8 days to go. <gulp>

The deadline is 3.30pm on the day of your meeting, unless proceedings are adjourned for up to 14 days following the meeting.

Adjournments are actually quite common these days, and are generally used if there are rejecting votes which cannot be outvoted, but other creditors who have not claimed. The adjournment procedure gives your IP the opportunity to rally more support by having a bit more time.

Have faith - so long as your proposals have been fully researched, and represent the best solution for your creditors, there is absolutely no reason why they should be rejected.

Hi I am new to the forum and am currently in the process of trying to get an iva, my creditors meeting is on the 16th may and I am more stressed now waiting for the decision than i was when i was in debt!
I am 27 and owe £32,000 to 13 different creditors, I still live at home but am still struggling to make ends meet, my creditors include, HFC, Cahoot, egg, halifax, marbles, mint, virgin, hsbc, barclays, orange, to name a few!
I am so stressed, i always get a kick in the teeth an I am expecting another one! What do you think?

I will learn by my mistakes

Hi mjh and welcome to the forum

If you have put the best proposal forward to your creditors then there is no reason why it ought to be rejected. Put your faith in your IP and stop worrying!

To Olympic Torch - what did your IP tell you about contact post-meeting? If you have not heard anything by 4pm I would give them a call.
