Oh Charlee so sorry,

what is the difference between the payment you offered and what they want I know its 4p in pound but what is the amount you have left to pay, maybe a ray of hope could be when your monthly contributions have been paid to cover the difference offer the 4k again (hope that makes sense). Feel totally gutted for you, try to take a step back and look at the fact that you are no worse off today than you were yesterday, just means continuing with monthly payments. It may not seem like it to you now but 30 months will fly by.

Out of curiosity who holds the majority of your debt?

I am not holding out much hope now for my offer!!

Hi KTC14

18 days before we know, must admit not holding out much hope now, we are only offering 44p against 69 they were expecting and we have equity clause, which we wouldn't be able to access due to age, and there are health issues which might mean we would not be able to pay for the next 48 months if things deteriorate.

Can only wait and see, feel so sorry and worried for Charlee.

Aww sweet pea, I'm so sorry to hear you didn't get the outcome you wanted. Have you spoken with your IP post the meeting? You can ask for the meeting to be adjourned for a couple of weeks, in that time it will give you some breathing space to re-evaluate your situation.
Please take a step back from all of this just for a moment. Do some breathing and find that fight, surly theres an answer? I too am going out of my mind with worry but over the last few days I've realised there is so much more to life than worrying over debt.
My thoughts are what will make me poorly not my situation.
Is there anyway of raising an additional £1K? I saw that Melanie had recommended a £5K figure, or possibly consider BR as you have no home to lose? There's a few options to help you, please don't feel like you have no one to turn to cos this forum just goes to show that we do all care about one another.
I understand that your emotions are running high at the moment and mixed with no sleep will not make things seem any brighter. BUT honestly the help is here waiting for you.

Hi Welshwiz - i think we have something like that too, but I am waiting for a break down with my PPI etc so I can see what it is they are thinking. The guy from FJ rang me late on Friday and said he would call back today between 2.30/3 so I am pinned to the phone as you can imagine.

Too right Jules79 - we have been a good support to each other on this topic, sometimes it is good to chat to people in the same situation as not all our friends are aware of our situation.

What you must remember ladies is that each one of our situations are completely different, we all have separate complexities with our lives and IVA agreements so please try to remain positive. I did read somewhere that Melanie managed to get one of her clients F&F agree'd to 0.5p in the £. Again all circumstantial but proof that the process works in favour for most clients.
I believe that Charlee will get this sorted once she has had a moment to reflect and gather her thoughts, its an extremely stressful time. I guess we all have had that 'light at the end of the tunnel' feeling so to have that dashed would leave any of us immensely upset, that said it doesn't have to be the final decision for any of us. Our IP's are working on our behalves and will do their very best given our specific circumstances.
Keep smiling gal's, when this is all over with we will be thinking 'look how far we have come' we may even find its boring to not be worried over anything ;-) (wishful thinking ha!)

Hi Jules

You are quite right, as I have pointed out to Charlee we will be no worse off just have the iva hanging over us for the duration. I hope Charlee will hopefully see that it is not the end of the world just another set back, bit worried she hasn't posted since her results post!! If you are reading this Charlee just let us know you are OK

Heres my facts and figures! When i entered my iva i had £16k of debt. I agreed to pay £170 for 60 months, makin my total pay back of £10200. Obviously paid all my contributions so far and have a total of just over £5k to pay back for the £10200 to be completed. My original agreement was either 46 or 48p to the pound. I offered them £4k final settlement which made my total settlment of just short of 9k. They've come back today and told me i can rent somewhere for £500 a month - tell me where?!? I pay rent of £700 to my parents who have put me up to solve this problem- they say this is too much! Cant argue with what my parents want as its their house!! So i offered 36p to the pound, they want 40p to the pound which is £670 more than what i have offered! Spent about an hour crying to samantha trying to figure out my next move and my dad was so worried about me he has agreed to stump up the extra £670 for me if this completely settles the debt. Samantha is writting it up and sending it to the people who said no, and seeing if they will accept £4670 for the final settlement and i shud find out by 5pm. All for £670! Ive been sleeping on a sofa for a year and have only my clothes and phone! My car has broken down and ive just paid out over £700 to get that fixed and on the way home from work this morning an engine system fault came up on the dash! I have no way of paying for that to get fixed! Lol i dont know where these £500 a month rental properties are! I live in the cheapest of my surounding areas and rent in my area is 575-625 for a one bed flat! Cant house share as i work nights and do shift work! I honestly dont have a clue what to do next! Im lost and terrified! Just have to wait till 5pm to find out what happens next, then onto a night shift at work tonight! Who knows!! Just all i know is the insolvancy practioner who rejected me couldnt give a rats arse about my life! They just want as much money as possible! Figured if i offered them an amount over £10200 it was pointless doing the iva to start with because the sole reason i entered into the iva was because they said it would wipe off a percentage of the debt! It doesnt! Complete bull! Shall just have to wait now and see what comes next. Just really thought today would be the end of this tunnel, but now i cant see any light!

Just need to take some man up pills! Its just so frustrating knowing how hard im working and how much ive had to sacrifice all for my tennage mistakes! Noone to blame but myself! Lloyds tsb and my main creditor but the people representing them are also representing capital one and barclays - who has ripped me off in their figure anyway! I borrowed just over 1k off them, and paid them back for 3 years, had about 300 left to pay them and they've claimed for the full original amount! Nothing i can do about that now tho! My way of seeing it is that i am now offering them what they have asked for! They've asked for 40p to the pound and im offering them that! If they say no now, what do i do from there? Samantha said on my original rejection call that she was going to adjorn it for 7 days and appeal, but in all honesty if they rejected it today, they'll reject again in 7 days on the original amount! There no point fighting for the original amount if they have already said no! Just have to see what happens in the next 2 hours i guess! Worried as hell tho! :-( absolutely devastated! Just kept being told it was a good offer! Clearly not good enough!

Oh Charlee, I do hope you don't have another disappointment. It seems these banks have not had to take any responsibility for their actions but bleed their debtors dry when they hit hard times. I know nobody forced us to take on the debt but surely questions have to be asked about the amount they threw (literally) at people, as long as they were making money they didn't care. Must admit all ours was manageable until other half lost his job and after working for 34 years received £65 for 6 months then nothing for another 12 months until he found a job (which only paid min wage) Hopefully you will get your result today and can start putting your life back together, good luck

Just an update!!!!! Just had a call from Samantha and my rejection has been officially overturned! They've now accepted the full and final settlement of £4000. I'm so relieved and happy I don't know what to do with myself. Just so thankful and greatful to Samantha for her help. She really did go above and beyond to help me. And my cheque to settle my debt will be in the post imminently!!! Thank you guys for all your kind words and support! I really do hope that this journey will come to an abrupt end for all of us!!! Xx

Hi Charlee,

Things have been moving quicker than we could post on here! Like you, we were extremely disappointed with the rejection of your F&F offer this morning. On your behalf we made a number of further representations to TIX during the course of this afternoon, to ensure that they understood your circumstances in more detail. I’m pleased to say that after re-presenting the variation to TIX, and providing some additional information, the variation has now been accepted.

I hope this is the first step for you putting your IVA behind you.

I know that my colleague has already called you with the good news and they have already advised you what to do now. If you do need anything else though please do not hesitate to contact us.

Thank you
