5 years ago I was in huge debt which my wife knew very little of.
I spoke to Tina S and Mel G via this site who showed me there was a way to deal with the situation.
I told my wife , who , thankfully stood by despite being truly hurt.
It isn't easy , but you learn a LOT from the experience.
If you're in an IVA , or need advice on debt , there IS a way .
Good luck to you all on your debt free journeys and a big thank you to Mel G and her team and for everyone on the forum who advised and supported me.
All the best
Casi

Well said! I just replied to someone going into an IVA and said it was the best thing I ever did, of course it's hard and of course there are lots of repercussions BUT you do learn a lot and I will never be in debt again. It terrifies the life out of me! I've even learnt how to save, something I never did in my life until I was in an IVA!

My first IVA payment that isn't going to Melanie today, looks very odd sitting there in the bank. I'm not doing anything with it as yet until I get my completion certificate and once I receive that will sort it. x

Hi Lesley, that must be really strange still having the payment in your account. I can't imagine how I will b feeling in August when it (hopefully) happens to me. That's a good idea keeping it in there till you get your cc. Let's hope its not too long for you. Hopefully my ppi claims will be sorted by then. It's been over a year already!!!!!!!! Can I just ask you did you have to do an I and E form at the end of your iva?

I think I did Joowoo, how bad is that I can't remember anything much and it all being so recent...I had to sign to say no windfalls or similar had been received too. I think I did all this prior to Christmas which is why it seems an age away.

once I receive that certificate I have plans for the money but just think in the meantime I'll leave it there just in case anything is wrong with IVA. x

Thank you Lesley , I've done a little overtime recently so I'll keep half aside incase they want it. They will be having at least £5000 extra from me through ppi claims so hopefully it will be a smooth ending but reading posts on here you never know and I'm with DFD so I'm keeping all my fingers and toes crossed.

Crossed here for you too. Every day I rush home to look at the post but sadly not yet. I realise it's too soon but when it was pre-IVA I used to be anxious about the meeting then for the whole 60 months I never stressed at all knew I had allowances for everything or an IP that was more than contactable and understanding. Now it's over, I'm stressing again over this certificate how bizarre x
