Hi everyone, just a quick update really. So both me and my husband entered into an iva early last year and did a full and final a couple of months ago after help from my parents. All went well and completion certificate arrived a few weeks after. No need for a review as had our yearly one 3 months prior ... great ! My husband is self employed as a sole trader but we decided a partnership might be better so after some advice on who to approach on here for a business bank account we contacted Barclays! These were one of our creditors in the iva so wasn't holding much hope obviously. Due to the type of business my husband has Barclays sent out a bank manager to our home ! Yes i felt super posh lol. Anyway we were completely honest about the iva and produced our completion certificate . So, expecting a straight 'no', we were greeted with a 'yes' it should be fine .... today i received an email saying our new full business account with cards and cheque book is on its way !! There is definitely life after an iva.

Excellent news ! Well Done!

I have heard of previous successes with Barclays, once you can get a manager to review the matter, as the computer often says "No" !
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.
IVA Completed 23rd July 2013 .... C.C. 10th January 2014

Excellent! Well done :)

We are in a strange limbo. We paid a final double payment a few weeks ago and we are still waiting to hear something.

I rang up and was informed that the payment was successful and the direct debit has been cancelled etc. now we are just waiting on our completion certificate.
