It would appear that the IVA council are doing the rounds again and I to have become the proud owner of one of their letters.

Have decided that I am going to reply to them stating that I would be grateful if they could remove me off their mailing list as they hold my information incorrectly (I got married since my IVA) and that I am sending a copy of their letter to my IP for their records as well and quite frankly I signed an R3 document therefore appropriate advised! Plus a few choice other things if the mood takes me.

I'll look forward to getting one, as I haven't received any of this stuff yet lol (assume it's a "possible mis-sold IVA" letter?)

What's a R3 document? Not heard of one of those before?

If it's a prepaid envelope they send, put something heavy in it so it costs them more in postage!!!!! [:p]

Hi
Their website is in a state of comatose,no one from the IVAC has posted for weeks and also the resident IP Nick Peat has gone very quiet.Still they must be very busy referring people who have apparantly been mis sold an IVA to their
'friends'at UK bankruptcy who are kindly helping people to petition for bankruptcy at an alleged cost of £1000 plus the £485.

First new post on their site for ages appeared on thursday. In fairness it looks to be from a sympathiser to IVAC cause, who starts his post with the telling aside that the reason he hasn't posted lately is that no spokesmen have posted either, i.e the impression is that they no longer answer questions, legitimate or otherwise.

I am tempted and intrigued to call them and see what "advice" they could offer and what they could do about it. mainly jsut to see if they are "genuninely concerned about the level of mis-sold IVA's" or to see if they actually in it to make money by guiding you down the path to bankruptcy and it is a purely commercial venture?

Which IP firm are you with - as I am keen to know who they are deeming to be "IVA factories" these days.

Grant Thornton - I got my letter on Saturday and Hubby got his yesterday!

Cr15py - an R3 document is done by the Association of Business Recovery Professionals and it is an A4 booklet which details the insolvency options (i think..) and then there is a little cut out section at the back which you are supposed to sign and return to your IP to say that they have discussed with you all the options available and you are aware of them.

Andy - sadly no prizes for guessing which one it is - otherwise we'd all be winning the prize!!!

I couldn't believe some of the things Nick Peat has said on that site. For instance implying that anyone who pays more back of their debt than they have to needs their head examining (I'm paraphrasing).
