It made me wnat to scream! Why can't they have decent music, or even better, more staff to take the calls!

Hi guys
just got up was working all night. I rang them on monday and told them that it was taking too long to get through he told me it is worse at the end of the month because everyone ringing to transfer and alter wages etc, also that the new cards were generating a lot of queries and apologised. Yes the music sends me whacko, and also asked about online, said it is definately in the pipeline but no date set yet.

I was told the same thing when I asked about online banking.
It will be offered in the future, but no launch date.

Take care.

Well I hope they get internet banking soon - I've just found out that I am charged 10p for each text I send for my balance. I am not impressed as they told me that it was a free service - they forgot to add 'but you will be charged by your network provider'! Roll on the day when my credit rating is cleared and I can get a proper bank account!

Just out of curiosity, am I tied into Think Banking for a minimum term (I know I should have found this out!) as I am seriously thinking of trying Nationwide for an account.

Well I've just applied for a Flexaccount online and surprisingly Nationwide said that I have been accepted for a cash card account. I only did it to take my mind of the football ([:-(]) and I thought I would have to go in the branch, but fingers crossed it's gone through ok.

as far as i am aware skippy there is no minimum term, once i can get a debit card elsewhere i am off to, will start looking into it now, i like the idea of the account being managed but will have to learn to do it myself, its the poor side of the communication that is bugging me and still no paying in book!!!
it will do for the time being.

I know what you mean about the paying in book - I'm still waiting as well. The annoying thing is I've got a couple of cheques to pay in and until I get the paying in book I can't do anything with them. Just to really finish me off, when he allegedly ordered the paying in book, the guy on the phone told me that it will take 10 working days to clear the cheques when they get them!

You're putting me off now. I am just about to transfer my wages to this account, because I want the convenience of a managed account in winter. But hearing all this, it may be more hassle than it's worth

Hello again
I just paid a cheque in and just sent it by post. If you ring them they will tell you where to send it. I was told on monday eight working days for the cheque to clear. Will let you know how long it takes.

This gets even better! I've just realised that you can't get a balance from the cash point so I have to text (and pay!) for my balance. Thank goodness Nationwide have accepted me! OK, I won't have a Maestro, but I think I can live with that, especially as I can save money.

I know most people are happy with Think Banking - I just have to be different!

You can make a cheque and cash deposit at your nearest Royal Bank of Scotland bank. You will need your thinkbanking account number and sort code. I was told cheques take up to 7days.

Well, so far so good I haven't experienced any problems with thinkbanking. Even with transferring funds between accounts there has been no problems.

Sorry, kez and skip the accounts didn't work out for the both of you. Gee, I'm feeling a bit guilty now as I recommended the accounts.

Say...can I blame neverending? LOL Just teasing andy(smile).

No worries DD, I won't be holding you responsible - you did lend me the warrior's helmet for the OR interview.

To be honest, I think the bank account could be excellent - they just need to iron out a few niggles. The things I would change are:

1. Get internet banking ASAP
2. Make balances available at the cashpoint - paying for the account is bad enough, but I don't see why I should have to pay to get my balance as well!
3. Send out a paying in book when you open the account.
4. Get more staff so you can actually get through on the phone.
5. Change the b****y music!

I think the main reason I won't be staying with them is that I only have 2 DDs (direct debits, not Debt Dummys!) so they don't actually have a lot of managing to do. If you have a lot of bills etc going out of your account it would be really good as you don't have to keep track of your money.

Skippy, I agree with all of the above especially number 5.Ha! I do have more than 2 direct debits. I also do not check my balances regulary. Once I have the cash and salaties accounts balances, I then subtract all further deductions from there using my little notepad.

I also use the automated banking feature. Get the last 5 items and hang up. No, listening to that waltz musak.
