I've got a Nationwide and Co-op account like Pippa and I'm happy with both of them. With the Co-op you get a Visa Electron card as well.

Regarding Think Banking when I opened an account with them and I found them pushy and a bit thick to say the least - they kept trying to push an IVA on me even though I told them my IVA had failed and I had the date for my BR!

Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, today is the present - a gift to make the most of.

I went into the co-op, explained my circumstances, they were very pleasant, even offered a cup of tea! They gave me a cashminder account with visa electron debit card, online banking and I can withdraw from any link. I am really pleased with the account.

The problem I found with Lloyds TSB was they would only give me a cash card, and this could only be used at their cashpoints, whereas the Co-op and Nationwide ones can be used anywhere.

I agree with Lily about the Co-op - they were lovely when I applied for the account. I had my mum with me and they made sure she was ok and asked her if she wanted a drink!

If you still want to have a Master card then talk to cashplus Mastercard. They are very good and fully supporting!
