I have used thinkbanking since Nov 06 and i am pleased with the service i get off them espeically since they let u use debit cards, i wish they had internet banking, i was surprised to see a negative comment made about them in a post i read before, cos yea i know there is a fee but i think they help by giving u 2 accounts. Just wondering what other people thought about thinkbanking

The negative comment was probably from me! I used them for a month and then cancelled the account - I begrudged the £12.50 as I've only got a couple of direct debits so they didn't exactly do a lot for the money! I couldn't manage without internet banking, especially as you can't get a balance from a cashpoint and the text message balance was costing me each time as Vodafone charged me. I also found they customer service a pain as it was impossible to get through.

That's just my opinion as I know it works for a lot of people, and each to their own. I am happy with my Co-op and Nationwide accounts, but you have to to do what is right for you.

Hi tinytori
I am with think banking and as you say the only thing missing is the internet banking but that is supposeddly coming at some point in the future. Other than that I am totally happy with the account as it saves the worry of making sure there is enough for the debits each month. The only really negative comments that I have seen are about the charge, as skippy said a waste of money iif you dont have enough debits. I have loads and therefore makes life easier, also if you take into account the cost of a pre paid debit card then the charge doesnt seem too bad, a lot have the account on here. Also the fact it takes a couple of minutes to set up and no credit checks ,you can be upfront about the iva or bankrupcy and no worry of them changing their policy and closing your account . Everyone is always so friendly I have not spoken anyone who isnt.

Hi
I have 2 LLoyds TSB accounts. When I get paid I transfer a set amount into what I refer to as my bills account. I asked them not to send me a cheque book and whne the card came I cut it up. I never touch this account so I know my bills are always paid.
37 payments made, 23 to go.

I agree Ang - if you've got a lot of DD's it's great. My problem was all the bills are in Dave's name and I give him cash for my share and £12.50 charge for my £25 to Vodafone and £10 to Specsavers seemed a bit steep!

I totally agree with you skippy a waste of money for you and no need.It totally depends on the individual, everyone has different needs from bank accounts that is why there are so many different ones, this one is great if you have loads of bills on differing dates going out, it saves you the worry and lets you know how much you have to live at any given time.

No, of course you haven't upset me! I hope I haven't upset anyone who uses them. As I said it's each to their own - you have to find what works for you.
