Hi everyone - I posted on here a few weeks back about this 'law firm'. They contacted me and told me the exact same thing, that I'd been mis-sold my IVA. I asked them to remove my name from their contact list and told them not to contact me again. I looked them up on the internet and couldn't find any trace of a legitimate business under this name, however I found an ad on Gumtree advertising for call centre staff. Their email address was a hotmail account which to me was dodgy right from the offset. They also wouldn't give me their phone number when I said I wanted to call them back. They must have forgotten to with-hold the number when they called me again as I got it off my caller display in the end!

Steer well clear of them. They are proper dodgy.

I've been contacted by this company too and was on the verge of following their advice until common sense took over. I'd submitted my direct debit form but cancelled it before any money came out.

Tried to do some internet research and could only find this site and defunct job adverts. After speaking to one of their representatives this evening, trying to find out why the money didn't go in) they've put up a website **link removed** but I'm still not convinced.

Any other people been contacted by this lot?

They are just another company preying on people who are vulnerable. If it sounds to good to be true, then it normally is.

Are you worried that an IVA was not the right solution for you timjhale, or is it the way that this firm approached you that has made you think twice about repaying your debts?

A bit of both to be honest Melanie!

Firstly I've got no intention of paying I&W any money, they cold-called me and I've no guarantee they're legitimate. I'm thinking that they're probably not! As Mickyboy put it, "If it sounds to good to be true, then it normally is."

However I'd already been thinking for a month or two that the IVA wasn't perhaps the best option (I'm a year into it) and the call coincided with this. I'm tempted to seek out a more reputable firm to get more info but am unsure how to go about it.

Hello, my IVA started back in May 2008, and i was paying £320 per month into my IVA.....A company called isaacs and whey contacted me within 3 months of this, i was a little skeptical of how they got my infomation as i thought this was private, but what i didnt know is that your actuall placed on an insolvency register, and that is public knowledge.

I listened to what they had to say, and i tended to agree with them, it seemed like the best thing for me. The only thing was i wasnt too sure about the company, and didnt want to see myself being done over once again. so i actually arranged to go down to there offices and meet them directly, it was a big decision for me so i had to make sure i was dealing with the right kind of firm.

Im glad that i did follow it through and went to meet them, everything they told me over the phone was done, they had me through bankcrupty in 5 months, and for the last 4 months, i havnt been paying anyhting at all, ive got that £320 per month, and i dont owe my creditors a penny, its great and such a relief.....Just knowing that over the next 4 years ive saved myself £16,000, and not only that, but in 8 months, i will be out of my insolvency, and i can start building my credit up again and get on with my life..

Just wanted to post something on here from someone with knowledge on the procedure and the company, as I feel its a little biased and unfair on here to a company who did everything they could for me, and got my life back on track.

I'll be pleased to give anymore infomation if anybody might need it.

Kind regards.

Denis

Very odd - if they are lawyers why are not in Chambers Directory and the Law Society Index

Hi Djones and welcome to the forum.

I presume you were charged for this BR 'assistance' and I was wondering if you'd be prepared to let us know how much.

Also, had your circumstances changed a lot? I'm curious as to how you're not paying an IPA even though you had disposable income to pay into an IVA. My IPA is a lot lower than my IVA, but I am still paying one.

The information I'd like is a company address because as others have said - aside from an old telesales job advert and a hotmail address they don't appear to exist.

If any of our forum posters who are in IVAs are feeling that they made the wrong decision and that bankruptcy is a better option, they would be far better advised to explore the "free" route of looking at the Insolvency Service's website to apply for the procedure themselves. Their IPs will help where possible and there really is no need to avail of paid bankruptcy assistance.
