This isn't a question, this is a whinge ... I'm going through a PPI claim with Barclays, I've never experienced such incompetence. They sent a cheque out to my old address last February, I didn't know about this as I hadn't lived there for 6 months. When I finally found out I was told to go into a branch and change my address details and then they'd re-open the case. Not just send another cheque, that would be too simple. No they want to re-open and re-investigate the claim, like moving address is going to affect the outcome.
I spent an hour in a branch about 3 months ago and updated my address with them, still no cheque is forthcoming. About 3 weeks ago I found out a cheque would be sent out in 2 weeks. I took that information with a pinch of salt!
Yesterday I got a letter asking me to go to branch with proof of my new address ... NEW, IT'S NOT NEW ANYMORE!!! Honestly, to think I let these people look after my money for 20 years (I did have some once) ... OK rant over, sometimes it's good to let off a bit of steam. I can't believe my mum used to work for them ...

Hi suky424
Totally agree! Barclays are muppets! I also put in a ppi complaint against them, however I got a letter back stating they had no record that my loan even existed! I even sent them proof that I had been paying the loan off through my iva, they still said they had no record of it! It's with the ombudsman now. They way I see it is they either find the account or they pay me back the 4k they got through my iva!

Muppets indeed ... they sold my debt to someone else. Fully expecting to get further delays, I think they just want to keep the money... greedy toads!

Om shanti, namesté, good luck to all who are embarking on the IVA journey, it isn't always an easy one but the outcome is the best.

If anyone out there wants it, I'll let it go cheap! Say £5.00?
