Is just the best thing for so many people. I would like to say thanks to everyone who has helped give advise and help so many people through stuff that goes on.

Big pats on the back to yourselves and to all new IVA'ers [:D] and bankrupts, good luck and don't worry too much, there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

Thanks again to everyone on here. [:)] Only about 2 more years on mine and wish I had found this place sooner!!! [:D]

So true! I wish I had access to such a wealth of information when I was starting with mine a year ago,and had absolutely no one to ask for help, even my parents don't know up to this day, but thanks to this site I am now even more determined to see this through completion.

It’s so great to hear that this forum is achieving what it was set up to do, helping people with their debt situations and being a source of great information.

Trionon - You have been in an IVA for a year and you say that you haven’t told your parents, do you have any other support? 4 more years is a long time to keep this bottled up.

Best Regards. IVA Experts

Yep, long time but I can not involve parents who are in their 60s and would never comprehend the whole debt issue, besides they are not in the position to help me, and it was my mess to begin with. Even if there comes the point that I am unable to sustain the payments or re-mortgage fails, then that's the lesson at the end of the day. I am in mid 30s and I can start again, and so this is the view I've decided to take, but hopefully things will work themselves out.

i told my mum and dad, they are in their 70's, i think it is better to be honest with your family about it as it will hep you to face things better and with more support.

Ditto with above this site is fantastic and I am privileged to have been welcomed with open arms.

I agree it is hard to tell your parents as I too was a daddys girl but they have been great and offered me money and everything however its my mess and I will learn from it and dont want parents money they worked hard to save, yet they do help out if its too tight odd months. As my debt is form my business I feel a big failure as it is obvious whats happened as my shop is about to close down so all my friends have a good idea without me having to say too much. One of my friends is an accountant and she finds it all a bit hard to understand but acepts it.

Smile it makes people wonder what you have been up to!

I'm so sorry to hear about your sister in law Kiska. News like that really puts everything else into perspective.

Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, today is the present - a gift to make the most of.

she is so strong and i can feel really weak when you look at the big picture. i feel bad for feeling sorry for myself when i put myself there, at least i can give her love and support.
