Glad you both had good service from TC - I have to say they were absolutely appalling when we dealt with them. Good to hear they've improved [:)]

hi thomas charles are an intermediary and just collect the info for your case and pass it onto a IP so the fee you have been charged for the service will not go towards your debts its for the service and to be quite honest you neednt have paid it if you had gone straight to and ip all monies would have been towards the debts

It's easy to be wise after the event Creditcrunched, but a lot of people don't realise that they can go straight to an IP. I Googled debt solutions and dealt with the first friendly voice I heard (which happened to be TC) as I was desperate.

I was the same Skip. We were just looking to change DMP companies, but when we were offered an IVA, we jumped at it, never looked at anything else.

If I'd found this forum first - I would have phoned one or two.

Hubby went on google and rang the first company he came across which was DFD. He went with them out of desperation to get out of a mess.
Its easy to say what we should or shouldnt have done but in times like that, as skip has said, its good just to hear a friendly voice.

Its great though when we do hear about good service from the outset.

I was the same- I went to Lifeline Debt solutions and they passed me to an IP. It was only £250-but money well spent in my book-= they are literally down my street and couldnt be nicer...they sat me down went through all the forms and bits I didnt understand as I was doing them. They have handled lots of creditors issues and even call me weekly to check I am happy with the service from my IP. They have also told me to pop in anytime I just need to have a chat or am feeling low....

Totally agree with Skippy and Kallis.

I still feel a bit agrieved at paying what i did for a service i didn't feel i received, and which was totally unnecessar.

However, i needed to sort things out, didn't know any better and am now on the way to a brighter future. You live you learn.

I remember when other posters said the same thing.I have to give them credit, at least they defended their corner and wanted to discuss the issues people had.

Fair play

Actually it is Accuma that owns Thomas Charles!

I believe whatever charges are made should be deducted from any Nominees fee that is charged - that is my personal opinion
