Hi, I have debts of £40,000, i have been paying these back through a debt management plan since May 2006.

I havent had any problems as such until now...
The Natwest Bank account, used to be my account, until i moved in with my partner and we made it a joint account.

This is where i need some help....
Natwest have transferred the debt £2,000 to Wescot recovery, and because my partner isnt making payments they have threatened her with court action, unless the whole £2,000 is paid in full.

Although im making payments towards this every month, they are threatening my partner with legal action, what do i do?

many thanks

Hi wild thing and welcome to the forum

How much are you paying to your DMP per month?

I am afraid that if your partner is jointly liable for the NatWest debt, then the bank are within their rights to pursue her. I suggest that you get the DMP company to see if they can bind your partner into the same agreement if possible. Depending upon the amount you are paying, an IVA might be a better solution for you. Have you considered this?
