Well, now I'm reeeeally looking forward to it. Afraid no further progress in becoming a Hell's Grandad beyond the crash-helmets, Skippy.

I'll join you - I don't want to jeopardise my chances of getting accepted any more than I already have!

Just had another email through from Britannia Hotels www.britanniahotels.com about their "posh" Birmingham Hotel being £28 per night per couple, they have 5 Manchester Hotels too, but their booking system is currently unavailable, I'm sure they have some good deals for the weekend though if anyone wanted to check for an overnight stay. Also www.booking.com have given me some excellent hotel rates too. I won't be able to make the venue, but hope this info helps others out.

I'm not sure if we're going to be able to make it now - Dave has hurt his back and can hardly move! He's going to the osteopath today so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that he can sort him out. It's about 4 hours each way for us to get to Manchester, so unless he's a lot better it'll be too much for him, and I don't want him aggravating it and not being able to work. We'll make a decision one way or another on Friday.

This is the third time we've arranged to go to Manchester and the third time something has gone wrong!

What a shame - I know how much you were looking forward to it. Perhaps Manchester is just not for you, but hopefully there will be a Frugal Friends meeting scheduled for a more central location shortly.

Hope the back gets better soon - and make sure he does not use it as a big excuse to make you do all the cooking and housework!

I'm hoping he can cook dinner tonight - we've got smoked haddock and I wouldn't have a clue what to do with it!

My hubby has also hurt his back! We will be going though, not really been out anywhere since last November's FF meeting!

Skippy, I hope Dave recovers in time.
