We are aware that we don't want to have people forking out a lot of money to attend/stay over, so to give you a rough idea the plan is probably to look at a Travel Lodge in the centre costing maybe £30-£35 or thereabouts, and then adjourn to a nearby venue.

Regards.

There was a travel lodge in Manchester that we stayed in when my grandson was born, Bury way. It had a pub next door, there was a huge Asda across the road for breakfast the following morning. I didnt need to use my car for anything I wanted or needed.

That sounds like a good idea Lily. Do you know the name of the hotel?

Hi Skip

I shall find it for you, it was a good place to stay as everything was there at hand, including the pub.

At Chadderton (near my Mum's) we normally stay and it's a Travelodge with a lovely pub next door and a Subway for breakfast across the road if you just want a 6" sub for 99p! Boat and Horses the Pub's name is next door, I think a lot are situated in the Manchester area, wherever it is I can make it as due to having family in the vicinity I can come as they have not got to know where I'm going on the Saturday evening but will care for my daughter while I go out. x
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

The only thing that worries me about a pub is how noisy it could be on a Saturday night - I don't fancy having to shout loudly so I can make myself heard, especially as we're all there for the same reason!

I'm the same Skippy. I don't think it will be condusive to private conversation about debt, plus we may not all be able to sit together.

The Christmas party last year was great as we had a private room which had it's own bar and the buffet was served in there as well. We could do with something like that.

OK

When the first FF Meetings were introduced by Andy we always had them at a pub, well a hotel type pub and we never had any problems with other guests, listening in on our conversations. I guess a private room is the best thing for total privacy though.

The travel lodge I proposed was quite expensive anyway, probably due to the location being so good for other things.

Good luck with this anyway, I hope you find somewhere very suitable for eveyone.

Point taken re privacy and I suppose it would depend on how many of us there were as to seating availability, private room must be best option I guess?

I had a look at the Travel Lodge you suggested Lily looked great, the only downside being that it didn't have a meeting room, so it really depends on what everyone wants.

To be honest I don't fancy a city centre pub on a Saturday night, and I also don't fancy walking through the city centre to get back to the hotel! Somewhere outside of the centre might not be too bad though, especially if it had everything onsite.
