Never had that (although I have had a gas fridge) We lived in rooms until I was almost five and then moved into a council house.

No heating though other than coal fires.

I got my first look at a TV when I was around 10 in 1972! My Mum wouldn't have one and then others had coloured sets. First inside toilet when I was 11 when we swapped council houses with a friend.
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

We had a TV when we moved to the council house and I was 5 then, I can remember seeing my first colour TV which was owned by my ex husbands parents - I can remember thinking that we'd never be able to afford one of those!

Must admit that my daughter wasn't allowed outside the front of the house to play unless there was an adult there to supervise until she was at high school.

I used to play out from morning till night though.

Sorry Im just catching up - I love that post Ray & very honored to be one of those whom "survived" it all!!!!!!

Penny Sweets!! That were actually a penny! Yo cant get seem to get them now. And the price of a single Mars Bar now is just silly!

Both my boys are always out after school n the weekends now the weather is finally picking up. Winter months are awful when they are stuck inside, Ive usually got a lot more wrinkles n less hair after each winter!
Final IVA payment made in April 2013, never ever thought we could do it or get through it but we did! X

An IVA.co.uk Mentor is someone sharing from their experiences of dealing with debt

My childhood was of pure joy, lot of outdoor sports like football, cricket, Running, swimming etc and indoor games like ludo, carom etc. Now a days all kids are busy with playstation and pc and mobile, world has change 360 degree, so this day's youngsters will never feel the joy we enjoyed in our time.
