Not sure about vanquis, but i have had a couple of letters come through the post in the last week, and im still on the register. One strange thing ive had is a letter from Barclay Card and a new credit card from them.

Now admitadly i had this for 2 years into my IVA as at the time i was told i could have a nominal card andd the limit restricted to £250. About halfway through i remember getting a letter of adjustments to my IVA stating i couldn't have a card so this was cut up, barclay card called and cancelled.

I called them when the new card arrived and the person in the call center said yes we have re-issued we are aware you have completed your IVA payments so we are happy to have you as a customer. TBH i was speechless, so have thrown the card in a draw, it has a £500 limit and usual rates of interest. I have no temptation of using this card, i mean why would i, ive got cash for a change. But was very odd when it turned up. Barclays where one of my creditors but barclay card themselves where not a creditor as i owed nothing on the account when i took my IVA.

antm - it good that you have main stream credit at normal cost - credit cards are useful at times as they do offer a bit of protection on purchases - main thing is pay it off at the end of the month. I use mine as my debit card (ie groceries, petrol, internet goods etc etc) then it gets paid off when the bill comes in

I was actually thinking about going with Barclaycard, been with them in the past with no issues. Given that they seem to be a IVA friendly creditor given your response and their awareness of the IVA they still issue a card. I'm shocked though if they just issue them without any agreement, or was it still going just put on hold whilst the IVA was running and they were aware of it?

Was Barclaycard a creditor on these forums at some point, may be some clarity could be given by their representative in the case of completed IVAs?

Yes BC had a creditor expert on here last March. Hopefully they still look in now and again.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.
