Its incredible really how allowances differ - we were not allowed to feed the cats!

Hi Helen, we had too many problems with this IVA firm, we are now going to fail, and one of the experts on here is looking at my details to see if we could possibly start a new IVA, it is a gamble, but we have had so many problems, we did do a new in/ex and tehy put forward a variation meeting, but the letter they put forward did not explain our circumstances at all, and it failed, after i talked to my IP if just said accept or fail, i have more important clients, after nine mths of paying them, he did not know me and had not seen or read any emails or letter's i sent him, so we are in no mans land at the moment, and putting our payments away for emergencys. My husband and i had now worked out a good budget, that works, just hope we get a second chance, if not will go through our crditors our selves with a dmp or something as we do not want to go BR, it would be the easiest route, but we are getting older and would not be able to get back on the housing ladder, ive just moved into the fifties ladder, the very first rung.

Like a lot of other people I wish I'd found the forum sooner as things would definitely have been different with my IVA - I'd have put down what I actually spent, rather than being told what allowances I could have.

I hope it works out for you moneypenny. You really are trying your best and deserve a break.

If I had found the forum pre-IVA hubby wouldn't have been forced into BR, but you live and learn. The friends I have gained from this forum has been worth the pain of a failed IVA.

When will you know whats happening with your new proposal moneypenny?

I hope things work out for you moneypenny.

I found the forum pre-IVA and am so glad I did, to be fair I think my IVA would have failed with all my problems in the beginning of mine that no other IP other than Melanie would have supported me through x
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

well Julie, we have to fail with payments for three mths, the first was march 30th so two to go. i have sent a lot of details of to an iva expert, and they are checking them etc, in the meantime we are budgeting well and putting back £300 each mth which is a bit less than the payment for our current IVA, so we have a good contigency for car tax etc, which will givwe us a good start, we are also putting back all savings for clothes hair vet dentist etc, so thats another pot. now we have settled down with the idea of trying again, we feel this is the right route, and are morw relaxed, and spend more time together checking the bank every week, to make sure that our budgeting is working. we feel this will hold us in good steed if a new proposal is made, we have to wait for the advice from the experts, it may not be an iva it just depends what route they think would suit us best, but its great to relax for a while.[:)]
