I go for my op at 2pm, me scared - no way - just petrified.

Had a lovely weekend in Manchester with the daughter. Since going to uni her and boyfriend of five years and her have had many issues in 3 weeks and he finished with her via text in the first week. Ok heartbreaking but move on, they began seeing each other again and have been doing fine, but her confidence is so low.

Saturday night 12 of us are in a Beefeater restaurant which is attached to the Premier Inn where I'm staying to celebrate her birthday and he comes along and welcomed. The waitress god bless her throws herself at him by asking him out etc., why? why would you do it when somone is so obviously enjoying being part of a family table and in his defence gave her nothing to think he was in the slightest interested. My daughter again left feeling lower than low...

I feel the waitress crossed the barrier of professionalism and what was supposed to be a wonderful evening (surprie) for my daughter has left her feeling very down again. She is seeing a counsellor at the minute for this too! Grrr some people!

If any people reading this have any words to say to my daughter to help her regain her confidence I would more than appreciate it, as I just don't know what to say to her. She is beautiful in my opinion and don't know why she devalues herself so much x

Feel for you Lesley, i am the same with my 22 year old she gets really low at times and I do not know how to handle it properly, on the plus side He didn't encourage this waitress so he is obviously showing your daughter he wants to be with her, I am sure she is beautiful after all us girls are(ha ha) tell her you love her and reassure her thats all you can do
Alas, I am dying beyond my means.

Oh no how disappointing its awful when an op is cancelled like that as you gear yourself up for it, I hope the appointment comes through quickly for you.
Your daughter will come through this it's a big move going to Uni etc and all this with her bf hasn't helped, all you can do is be there for her and be the supportive mum I have seen you are. It's her bf that probably needs to do the reassurance etc , is he the approachable sort you could talk to and suggest he sends her a sloppy card or something just so she knows she is beautiful and missed, heck send her one yourself thanking her for being your daughter etc. Let her know how special she is although I am sure you do anyway.
If life is what you make it, I must have been in a strange mood when I made mine

Oh Lesley what a nightmare for you!, regarding your daughter, all I ncan say is just shower her with your love, make her feel beautiful, loved and secure and she will in time learn to love herself, girls are so competitive with each other and judge themselves by the looks of other girls their age all the time it's so sad, but she just needs to learn to love who she is, develop interests that she loves and concentrate on being happy in her own skin, that in itself will make her so attractive to others, men and friends! take care and you know where I am xxx

thank you both, I do tell her she's beautiful and shower her with so much love as she's my best mate as well as my daughter, she's 19 tommorrow bless her and it'll be the first time I've never seen her on her birthday, if I had the money I'd be driving to Manchester just to say 'Happy birthday' but I know I can't. x
