Hi
As Skippy states you need to keep the van payments upto date,as long as it IS a hp agreement and not a personal loan. You should be able to keep making the payments on this outside of the IVA[with your creditors permission].Once you have completed these payments you will be required to add this monthly amount onto your monthly IVA payment

Hi All
just looking for a little help again.
I have just forwarded all my information to my IP with regard to drafting my IVA, do I need to write to my various creditors informing them that I am stopping payments with immediate effect and they should now only contact my IP ? ?

You don’t need to write to your creditors, the process is quite quick in terms of setting up an IVA.
I t does take 6 to 8 weeks but a lot of the time is due to the legal process of advising creditors of you situation.
If you do get calls from creditors tell them you are seeking advise on you current financial situation.
If by chance any phone you at work or after 9pm tell them they are in contravention of the justice act and could be prosecuted for there actions. Don’t be bullied you are trying to sort things out in a controlled and professional manner

I would have a little speech prepared - something along the lines of "I am in the process of proposing an IVA. My IP is ______, their address is ________ and their phone number is _______. My case reference is (if you have one)_________. Please address all queries to them."

Keep the information to hand so you can rattle it off to whoever calls you.

Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, today is the present - a gift to make the most of.

A good IP ought to write to all of the creditors for you. We always do this as it doubles up as a way of independently verifying the creditor's claim as well.
