You can claim it yourself and there's good reason for this.

It is the explict advice of the FSA that claims companies are avoided.
They suggest that you maybe of exposure to the claims company fee directly from the creditors at some future point.

So in the inetersts of all, the creditors get all the money, no bad thing and no come back to you.

So just a genrally question have any IP's taken steps to protect thier clients from future creditor calim of the claims fee, as suggested by the FSA?

Been away for a bit. Just caught up with this. My variation was in april completed in june got my certifiucate emailed but had to fight for everything regarding not claiming ppi etc. I also complainted to the ip governing body and dfd also. Still waiting for the results on the internal complaint. I have EJoinson@fairpoint.co.uk . She was very good with helping at dfd

interesting ginaGu

If ive calculated correctly, was it circa 2 months from variation meeting until certificate arriving ?

Hopefully DFD will deal with mine in the same timescale as yours . My variation meeting was 16th July, but it took 2 weeks to get to the closures dept after this date.

Oh well, fingers crossed, end of Sept would be great, but i somehow think its more likely to be Nov/Dec ( in my mind anyway )

12 months to go. It was with much emailing and pushing and also the forum that I got mine through. I was not claiming ppi as we had not been mis sold and did not have any. It went to closure as a priority in the beginning of the new year but then the variation came etc. It took my ip 2 days to do the final dividends and send the paperwork to the insolvency dept.

Thanks GinaGu

DFD have some really good people, ive just informed the opinion that to make maximum profit they dont employ enough people ( lets face it they are in business to make a profit )

My Variation was on 16th July, yet they didnt pass to the closure dept until 30th July ie it took 2 weeks

I sort of just think one day when im least expecting it, I will get home from work and find the certificate has arrived. I dont need it for a specific reason, only to put the last 6 yrs behind me, all the same it will be good to have.

Its really strange how the iVA journey changed me... after not having had any spare money for years, now i have im really careful with it. Ive got used to not being able to afford to go out and this in turn has seen me lost the desire to go out on a Sat night. Its 9.15pm on a bank hol weekend and were staying in.

Or is it just that middle age has also set in over the last 6 years !!!

Enjoy the weekend everyone

Just came back from a weeks holiday to find an email from DFD sent to me on Tues 28th Aug confirming that my Certificate of Completion is with my Supervisor and once this has been reviewed and signed it will be sent to me and the IVA closed. They say I should receive it within the next 14 days! Great news to come home to [:D]
