Hello, just to let you know, my case manager still hasnt sent me a new proposal but at least they are keeping the payments at 320 until the meeting (whenever that is) so some progress I think. Thanks Melanie

Just to let you know melanie, i ahve received a copy of the new proposal. The IP has stated that he thinks my new payment should be accepted otherwise the IVA will fail. Is this the norm. He has also charged 1200 for a meeting that I have been told no one will attend. they will just say yes or no by proxy what ever that means. Does this mean the IP is suggesting new proposal is a good idea for the creditors?

Is the new payment based upon what you feel you can afford to pay, leaving you enough to support your daughter at college? The IP is putting his support behind your proposals, and it is right that he be paid a fee for the additional work he is doing in order to seek creditor approval. Seems you are getting somewhere nw, but do keep us informed of progress.

Would it be cheeky to ask to only pay half of the payment this month as I need to have work done on my teeth for 177 pounds. If it is I will have to cancel it. what does anyone think?

Are you in pain as a result of the work needed, or is it cosmetic. I personally would ask the Supervisor's permission to short pay if the work is essential, but do be careful of not pushing your luck when they were reluctant to put this forward for you in the first place.

Hi melanie, no it is not cosmetic work. I need 3 fillings and a root canal(whatever that is). I have told dentist if it is cheaper I would happily have teeth removed as it is cheaper but he is reluctant to do this as teeth are supposedly heathly apart from needing a root canal... I have decided to cancel appointment and hope that the pain (which has gone at the mo) doesnt return as like you said , I dont want to push it.

It sounds to me as if this work is essential, so give your IP a ring to see if you could be made an allowance for this, which can then be put to your creditors as a further modification at the forthcoming meeting.

If you need root canal treatment please get it done as soon as possible - it really isn't worth delaying it if you can help it x

Thanks skippy for advice. I am going to see how teeeth hold out though. I feel too cheeky to ask IP for a reduced payment.

In my capacity as having been a dental practice manager for many years in my previous life ... just watch that tooth that needs the root canal therapy as they can blow up and put you in agony [:0] I've had a couple of those and the pain was on a par with childbirth [^]

I think it's scandalous the way that they have essentially squeezed dentisty out of the NHS.

We had got the nations teeth into a state of good health through the 1960s/70s/80s ... especially children ... now people are reverting back to not going to the dentist.
