Hello.I've been very positive for days now but the anxiety is creeping in again and the whole IVA feels too good to be true.I got a silly letter from Eversheds saying they get money 'from people like me...'but don't actually say who they bought the debt off.I will post it to CS.
I just feel that something is about to go wrong again. Logically I know it shouldn't as long as I stick to the plan/budget/don't break rules/tell my IP everything.
A friend said I would just have to budget now...like I didn't before. I feel that I'm excellent at it. I've been doing it for years. If I hadn't been so good at it I would have entered an IVA years ago. Instead, I was able to keep my head above water 'only just ' perhaps, but still managed to pay everything each month. Then of course I had to use more credit to live on.
We don't have a fantastic house with top of the range stuff inside and we don't eat out or even go out very much. We do enjoy our holidays and I'm determined my kids will not suffer because of me and silly mistakes.
Worried about the annual review now, even though I've only made two payments. What if they got it all wrong and double my fees...lots of thoughts like this.
I feel as thought I've come down very hard today. A collegue was telling me they have £71.00 'till payday left on the overdraft. Payday is the end of January. I felt guilty that I'm insolvant and yethave more than enough to manage till the next pay day.All my bills are paid for now. In many ways I have never been as well off finacially for years. This is why it feels to good to be true.
Thanks for listenig. Cat

Hi cat1 -

I was surprised to hear about the letter that you have received from Eversheds. All the letters I have had from them have been to tell me about various accounts of mine that have been sold on and the letters are of a standard format. They are politely worded and always conclude by saying something like.... It is highly unlikely that we will need to contact you again.

Would you be able to post some more details about this letter - it seems a strange thing to send someone after a legally binding IVA has been approved (sorry - I cant remember how long ago yours was accepted).

I am nearly a year in now and STILL get feelings that something is about to go wrong!!! Nothing has so far - touch wood - and I think the vast majority of people must get similar worries at times. An IVA DOES seem "too good to be true" in a way.

Hope you feel more positive again soon!!!
47 months completed - 13 months to go.

oops I meant to say 'Reliable Collections'. Eversheds were very polite and friendly even.
This company was is acting on behalf of Simply Be (another fact I thought was missing) It says 'we specialise in the recovery of bad debt such as yours where normal methods of collection have proved ineffective. Before we assign your case to a team of personal collectors, we are prepared to give you a final opportunity to pay voluntarily.....admin chage of £12 has been added...'.
My IVA was accepted at the beginning of Nov. I've made two payments. The catalogue company were part of the creditors and didn't even vote. They have continued to send me bills which I have passed to CS.
Just worry that someone might show at work. Couldn't cope with that..feel like taking some time off 'just in case'.Cat

Hi
Catalogue companies see to be the slowest of all creditors to accept that the IVA is in place.
Nobody will come to your works
Ask your IP to write to them and I would phone them and ask to speak with a supervisor[get a name] and ask them to check the Insolvency register and to not send any more letters to you.

Hi Cat1 I am 2 payments in and the other day started to worry about my review, I suppose its because I have had a pay rise, only 2.5% cost of living but I did wonder if I can ask for an increase in contingency money, I get 35.00 per month which is quite low. Anyway I have 23.00 till the 18th Jan, but I dont need food or petrol, so fine. Pre my iva I sometimes only had forty odd pence to last me when it got to 2 weeks before pay day.

Hi.Suppose I'm destined to worry now untill my IVA is over. Only 70 more payments and 5 annual reviews. Hair already grey, but perhaps I can afford to get it coloured by a professional in 70 payments!!! Too good to be true as I feel as though I have more money now. Before, I had none. None at all. Even when I got paid the whole of it went to pay the debts and I lived off the overdraft till the over draft ran out, then I lived off the credit. It was horrible. But, I really like having a real budget. I can do this (touch wood nothing dire is going to happen untill I've got a contingency in place) cAT
