Hi everyone,

Just thought I'd warn you all of a company claiming to be solicitors/lawyers who are cold calling people with IVA's and trying to make them believe they have been miss-sold. They are then trying to talk you into bankruptcy and charging a fee for their 'advice' if you choose to take it!!

The company is called 'Isaacs & Whey' and they appear to be based somewhere in Dorset. They wouldn't leave their phone number for me to call back but I craftily managed to get it from the caller display after they'd forgotten to withhold the number! They are also operating from a hotmail email address (found on a Gumtree ad asking for call centre staff!!).

I know there are lots of company's doing this sort of thing at the moment but if this or a similar company contact you, please alert your IP immediately!

I think David Mond will be interested in this - another company for him to get his teeth into!

I agree Skippy - one for David [:)]

Thanks for alerting the forum Vickilou, more people that are made aware of these companies the better.

I think they ought to make the public register (or where ever these people get the details from) less 'public' then there wouldn't be so many problems! First there was the IVA Council sending letters out to people, now cold-calling! You're right, it is a disgrace. I even answered the phone yesterday only to hear a recorded message asking about my debt problems!

I may be adding 2 and 2 to make 5 but there was a solicitor by the name of Isaacs who was struck off up here for using clients account monies as his own a couple of years ago; the address published in the paper for him was somewhere in Dorset!

Of course it is illegal for them to cold call you from this country. Most of them get round it by using a foreign call centre.
