My last few posts on here have been frustrated ones wondering why I hadn't got my completion certificate etc.. etc... but things are a lot more positive now so thought I'd post something up to give a bit of hope for anyone else frustrated

My IVA with Payplan ended in September last year (was meant to be July but I'd missed a few payments when I had to change jobs mid-term)

I got my completion certificate through last month and nearly had a party!

I've had a mobile phone in my girlfriends name for 6 years which has always annoyed me - and I've now managed to start my own contract with O2 after paying them a £250 deposit up front which I get back after 3 months.
This has already started to increase my credit rating as I have monthly payments going out my account in my name again.

Today I got approved for a £500 credit card with Vanquis which I'm over the moon with. One of my friends is a financial advisor and has told me to put my £200 a month Diesel fill ups on it then pay it all off before I get my statement - apparently this will help improve my credit rating massively.

Everything is looking up for me and my girlfriend to be able to get our first mortgage next year :D

I've just got 2 creditors that haven't marked the accounts as "settled" on my credit report - so writing to them today to get that fixed.

Having an account on experian and equifax so I can monitor my credit report each month is brilliant.

So to all those of you still waiting for completion certificates or getting frustrated with the IVA process - keep your chin up :)

once you have cleared up your credit file post IVA six years your credit rating will go through the roof. There's nothing to fix or repair that's just an IVA myth.

And don't take this the wrong way, dump the vanquis card! As a lender if I know you have one of these cards, I know you've been in trouble!

Well done on receiving that all important completion certificate. I think the Vanquis card has helped many poster with the task of rebuilding their credit score.
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.
