Hi. Anyone had experience with Gopher Money? I've signed up to do an IVA. They are using Harrington Brooks as IP. Just feeling a tad bit scared now. Like its all a scam or something? I did get it in writing though that if the IVA didnt go through id be refunded my payment.
Any advice?

Hi and welcome. I've no experience of either company you mention but hoping someone who has will be along very soon to give their opinion. Hang in there an IVA is a good debt remedy so don't worry on that part. Sensible to get it in writing any monies paid will be returned if IVA isn't accepted.
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

Many IP firms do not charge any upfront fees so if there is a cooling off period you could get a second opinion.

What have you paid them for? Gopher Money is an associated company of Harrington Brooks, who are one of the largest providers of consumer debt IVAs in the UK.

What led you to choose this company to help you resolve your debts?

Nayla, if you have not signed yet, hold off until you speak to some more providers.

Some people had some great service and some really shoddy service from them. Just read this forum and you will get a feel for which company's you should speak to.
IVA accepted 18 March 2011, we have paid our final contribution on 1 June 2014.

They may not be an insolvency firm so perhaps it would be better to go directly to an IP firm and pay no upfront fees.

They are a lead generator for one of the leading IVA firms, Michael.

If they are a lead generator for one of the leading IVA companies then they will introduce you to the company they use.

You are free to contact any company direct too and not use a lead generator.

Personally, I would go with a firm where the actual people you are talking to are going to be those who guide you through the next 5 years or so, not one who will pass me on to another company. That said, some introducers do make themselves available during the course of the IVA to assist with any glitches.

I would also ensure that the IP is freely available to his or her clients, should the need arise.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.
IVA Completed 23rd July 2013 .... C.C. 10th January 2014

Make sure you pay no up front fees as most IPs can be contacted directly at no charge.

I have noted a few occasions when VB have stepped in to sort out a misunderstanding well into the course of an IVA.

I'm assuming that you are talking about on the forum where Andy has commented?
