I am currently going through a full and final payment process to end my IVA(IVA started in Dec 2013) and would like some advice around mortgages which I’m hoping someone can help me with. I have had a mortgage with Virgin money since March 2012. I would now like to buy a house with my partner. What are the chances of me being able to do this?

I'm afraid it's almost none until such time as your iva is off your credit report in 2019 or unless you have an exceptionally large deposit.

There are a couple of specialist mortgage brokers you can ask under ask the experts who have been able to help people out.
IVA started March 2011, Completed March 2016 and certificate issued 11 days after final payment. It was not always easy but then some of the best decisions aren't.

Hi and welcome,

Afraid I have to agree - unless your partner can source a mortgage on his own then your credit record will be shot until 2019 regardless of whether you finish early or not.

Although it may be difficult it may not be impossible. Contact Ryan or Shaun the forum mortgage experts and take their specialist advice.

Slim I think, sorry. Your credit rating will not be cleared until Dec 2018. I believe you need a big deposit to do this which I assume you won't have (based on the IVA). speak to Ryan or Shaun to see if they can help.
