Can a friend pay a lump sum on my behalf ?

Yes. They should make it clear that a lump sum is for a full and final offer only and, if the offer is rejected will not be available for the IVA.

Yes it should roughly be based on the number of payments you have left (plus any 12 month extension regarding any equity clause if it applies)

Make sure it also states that any contributions paid in the meantime will be deducted form the lump sum if accepted.
