Good evening
We have just completed our 6 years in an IVA in September, hooray!!I would like to thank all the posters on here for their valuable information.
I have just a couple of last questions. We have today received our completion certificate so onwards and upwards. I have registered with Noddle and I'm 1 out of 5 in rating,There is still one loan which says default, when will this drop off? A charge was placed on our mortgage at the beginning, who's job is this to remove so we can hopefully remortgage? We used McCambridge Duffy. Thanks again
Shane

Your IP will have sent notification to Land Registry when they sent you your certificate, so that should go soon. The default will disappear 6 years from the default date, which should be on or before your IVA started, so any time now if correctly dated.

Great news on completion ..and in time for Christmas too. As others say your IP will send off for the restriction to be lifted on your house.
Good luck in your now debt free life !

Just keep an eye on the default bank loan. As foggy said it should drop off on the 6th year anniversary of the IVA start date. However, I had a Yorkshire bank loan that didnt drop off and had to make a few phone calls to them and send a copy of my completion certificate to Yorkshire bank. It only took a few weeks to sort but they were really helpful and apologetic

Great news and perfect timing too. We will have sent a notification to the Land Registry to remove the restriction and that is done very quickly. Your credit file will clear up quickly too as the sixth anniversary passed but good advice from the other posters about late defaults.

If you are considering a remortgage it may be worth speaking with Shaun Vickery from Select who posts here or Ryan as they will have a good knowledge of where and where you cannot move your mortgage to. You may also be able to get a few pointers as to things to do and to avoid but these things are down the line. For now enjoy being debt free and best of luck for the future.

Congratulations Heywood Shane and good advice from previous posters in my opinion. The default should not be dated after the date of your IVA but, as already stated, this should automatically drop off your credit file 6 years from the date it was registered anyway and therefore, depending on when it was registered, should right itself. Otherwise you will need to write to the company concerned.
