Yes -- It was great to make that final payment, greater still to get the completion certificate -- but the BEST bit was coming off that darned Register ... sort of no longer an insolvent.

I agree it's not nice and throughout my IVA it was my one bugbear, I just wanted to be off it. The register should not be a public document in my opinion
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

It is THE punishment, for sure. I bet the sex offenders' register isn't as easy to come by yet the results would be potentially far more serious

don't forget welshwiz though my understanding is that it won't come off the register until the 6th year anniversary. it also stays on your credit records but just says completed until the 6th anniversary !!!

Hi crazyjoe90. The entry comes off of the Insolvency Register (this is the one open to public scrutiny) 3 months after formal completion. But, as you say, remains on the credit reference agencies files until the 6th anniversary (assuming formal completion).

I maintain that it is a disgrace that this is register is so publicly available - and mention this to the Insolvency Service every time I am in their company.

Sadly, it will probably take a case of domestic violence, or worse still - actual death threats to individuals working in sensitive lines or professions - before anyone takes in the damage this can cause to folks who have chosen to repay their creditors.
Regards, Melanie Giles, Insolvency Practitioner

Ah right so it will come off the register after three months of completion regardless of how long you've got left on it ?? and your right Mel....once it is paid off that should be it...you have paid back your debt to everyone's satisfaction that should be the end of it !!

put a search in google for insolvency register and it should come up

Edited to add, just tried it and it brought up an error page, it looks like the register is down at the moment.
