Been told my completion certificate is going in the post tonight :) opened an ISA. Changed my sky package. Got a new mortgage rate fixed (was declined New rate 2 years ago). So I'm feeling well pleased with myself.

Thanks everyone. I tried to open a savings account about 18 months ago online but was turned down so I thought the personal touch might help. I called the coop and they were so helpful. So apprehensive but I was honest and it got approved. And they also offered guidance on when to update my cashminder account but to be honest I'm happy with it. I don't need a cheque book or an overdraft

Excellent, especially with the co-op -- they do not like savings in an IVA.

Must say I have stayed with my Cashminder which does everything I want it to.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.

Well done, can't understand why any bank would turn down an application for a savings account!

Co-op don't think you should have any savings whilst in an IVA - even though you might be using it just to put in your allowances!

We must have been very lucky then as coop opened two accounts for us at the start of our iva, one current account with debit cards and cheque book and an online saving account although we never really managed to keep much in there!!

Still have the two accounts and have no intention of changing.
